Scrap Your Trip Adds 235 Items + Crate Paper/Scenic Route Pre-Order

Greetings from Southern Utah!  Unfortunately, our vacation got off to a rocky start.  The night before we left, my 5-year old son Logan was running a fever, so my husband Tony took him to the after hours pediatric place.  It was the  "It must be a virus and there is nothing we can do" visit.  Thankfully, he never felt bad, just had a fever.  Then, when we arrived, only 3 of our 6 checked bags arrived with us.  Southwest Airlines loaned us 2 car seats, but I had to wear the same clothes for 2 days.  Thankfully, we flew into a big city, so I went to Wal-Mart and got PJ’s, underwear and mascara.  But…no makeup, no flat-iron and most importantly, no medications.  Now I know that when they tell you to pack what you can’t live a few days without in your carry-on, they mean it!    We spent yesterday up in the mountains and the kids got to have a snowball fight.  Click here to see the You Tube video:  Florida Kids in Utah.  The snow was beautiful.  Yes, I know all you Northerners are tired of it and are glad it’s gone, but it’s beautiful to us Southerners (for about 5 minutes, anyway) :-)   As we drove through all the mountain passes, I couldn’t help but think of all the pioneers who traveled without the benefit of a heated car with portable DVD players and a GPS so that you don’t get lost (just got one for this trip – Garmin nüvi 660 Portable GPS Navigator - it’s fantastic!  Even found the closest Starbucks!)  I cannot even fathom trying to cross some of the mountains we did in a covered wagon, never knowing what’s ahead and if you made the right choice.  Thinking about the pioneers fills me with a sense of determination to live my life in the same way…always pressing forward even when I don’t know what’s ahead, all for the sake of a better life.  I hope I can do justice to the pioneer women before me. Many of you have been asking about the new Travel Line from Teresa Collins and we have it this week.  We also have two new beach lines, including Seaside Wedding from Creative Imaginations.  We also have a Summer Fun line from CI.  We have an Oriental line and lots more sports and games papers, rub-ons and stickers. We have new travel, Disney and pirate from Paper Wizard and of course, the SYT Design Room has been hard at work.  We focused on Spain, Scotland, China, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Music, Road Cycling, Pets and in honor of my 41st birthday this weekend, customized birthday diecuts! We even started making die cuts with patterned paper.  It’s opened up a whole new world of possibilities!  Click here to see them all:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/52808.html.   We also have 2 brand new suppliers for pre-order this week:  Crate Paper and Scenic Route Paper Co.  We have an estimated ship date of June 18th on any of these products, so remember, if  you need your other items sooner, please place them in a separate order.  Click here to see:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/preorder.html.  Today is also the last day for the pre-order from Prima.  Click here to place a last minute order:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/prima.html.   As always, thank you for your business!   Julie Swatek, President Scrap Your Trip® www.ScrapYourTrip.com http://blog.scrapyourtrip.com ‘cuz life is a trip worth scrappin’®

Scrap Your Trip Adds 240 Items + Prima Pre-Order

Isn’t a child’s memory amazing?  They can’t remember they are supposed to brush their teeth every night, but events from years ago (which is a large portion of their lifetime), they remember details just like it was yesterday.  This happened the other night with Lauren.  All three of the 2nd grade classes at her school put on a play yesterday – "Culture Through The Ages".  She wanted to rehearse with us the night before, but had a complete meltdown and cried for over 20 minutes.  When I finally got her to calm down enough to tell me why she was so upset, she said "What if the same thing happens that happened when I was in Kindergarten?"  At her Kindergarten graduation, she froze up, burst into tears and ran off the stage in the middle of the singing.  She cried backstage during the whole thing.  I had completely forgotten about it, but it obviously made a huge impression on her.  She said she was afraid it would happen again and "it was EMBARASSING!".  We had a long talk about it and I’m happy to report that stole the show (not that I’m biased or anything! :-) .  I posted a few pictures below and on the blog.

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity in helping us to raise money for the American Red Cross!  There were 262 raffle tickets sold to 166 people.  We raised $2620 and adding the $2000 match from Scrap Your Trip, the total donation comes to $4620!  I know it’s just a drop in the bucket, but by working together, we made it a much bigger drop.  The winners are listed below – your box of goodies will be on it’s way!

We also have a fantastic pre-order this week…Prima!  We have their new Artful Collage Flowers and 12 paper collections, complete with matching embellishments and matching Bazzill Packs!  Estimated shipping date is June 18 and remember, if you want your other orders sooner, please place two seperate orders.  Click here to see: http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/prima.html Today is the last day for Basic Grey Euphoria and Cloud 9 Max’s Backyard and Sunrise Smoothie pre-order.  The orders will go in tomorrow and we hope to have it to start shipping by June 11.  Click here to order:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/pre-order.html.

I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend.  We are headed to Utah for vacation on Saturday.  The last time I was in Utah six years ago, an idea for a scrapbooking business called "Scrap Your Trip" came to me.  Who knows what ideas I’ll come back with this time?!?

As always, thanks for your business!

Scrap Your Trip Adds 179 Items + BasicGrey & Cloud 9 Pre-Order

I think this was my best Mother’s Day yet! We decided to get our Disney passes back, and the kids “surprised” me with a trip to Disney. It was so cute to see them try SO hard to keep the secret! The weather was great, the lines weren’t too long and we didn’t have to push a stroller. It was all good. :-) I absolutely adore all the handmade gifts and cards on Mother’s Day. I can picture my kids making them and their love just shines through all their “treasures”. Pictures of them are below. Both of the kids filled out a “All About My Mom” page. I like Logan’s better…he said his Mom was 25. :-) It has been unbelievable this week to see the wrath of Mother Nature on the earth. The cyclone in Myanmar…tornadoes across Missouri, Oklahoma and Georgia…the earthquake in China…the wildfires burning here in Central Florida. I feel so helpless when I see the images…so grateful that it isn’t me …so guilty for being grateful it isn’t me. I want to help…do something. So I had an idea. We have a lot of “extra” scrapbook supplies. Samples, freebies, things sent to us by mistake. We’ve boxed them up and we’re selling raffle tickets. There are over 10 boxes and they have a retail value of at least $100. The raffle tickets are $10.00 and we will choose the winners in a random drawing on Friday, May 16th. The entire amount of the money raised from the raffle tickets will be donated to the American Red Cross. Scrap Your Trip is going to match the donation up to $2,000 and we will also be donating the cost of the shipping. We’ve done this before and sent the funds to an orpahage in Africa. You get the chance to get some great scrapbook supplies…I get to clean out the storage room…the American Red Cross gets additional funds to help those who need it and we all get to feel good that we made a difference in the world today. Click here to buy a ticket: http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/syt-raffle.html. We have 179 new items this week. Reminisce has a brand new line of embellishments called “Jet Setters”. They are 3-dimensional and are available for all 50 states and 11 countries. Creative Imaginations has two new collections for Italy and Alaska. We have more sports and games papers, stickers and rub-ons from Scrappin’ Sports & More – even a dartboard paper! The SYT Design Room focused on Australia, Swimming and Diving, Equestrian (for all you who have been requesting it) and Military. We even did Mother’s Day diecuts so you can scrapbook your day (hope it was as good as mine!). Click here to see them all: http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/51408.html. BasicGrey released a new line on Monday called “Euphoria” and we have it this week for pre-order. I love the copy they wrote for it! “Slip into summer amid enchanting patterns splashed with sparkling amethyst, willow green, lagoon blue and verbena pink. Relax in happiness and well-being, while indulging in your own personal state of delirium.” We also have two collections from Cloud 9 called Max’s Backyard and Sunrise Smoothie. Estimated ship date on these items is June 11. Click here to take a look: http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/pre-order.html. Today is the last day to order the Kimberly Poloson pre-order. The Blue Awning and Mira shipments were delayed to us from K&Co, but the boxes are supposed to be delivered today. Fancy Pants arrived yesterday, and we’ll be working to get those orders out to you as quickly as we can. As always, thanks SO MUCH for your business! Scrap Your Trip Adds 230 Items +K&Co/Kimberly Poloson Pre-Order

“Life is in the details.” This is one of my favorite sayings. So many times we scrapbook the “big events” but our life is really made up of the little day-to-day moments that help us become who we are. At dinner the other night, my son, Logan, told me he had a song to sing for me. I grabbed my new video camera and got the follwing video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BTN_MFmz84. I was so touched and so happy I got this on video. It’s the perfect example of my sweet little 5-year old boy, with his little boy lisp and his unabashed love for his mommy. He’s growing up so fast and I know the days of these heartfelt displays of love, complete with lots of hugs and kisses, are going to be getting fewer and farther between. I’m so excited about the video camera I used to make this video that I have to tell you about it. A friend recommended it to me and I’m passing on the favor. It’s called a Flip and it’s so easy to use it’s almost ridiculous! It only has 3 buttons: Record, Play and Delete. When you’re done, you plug it into a USB port (yes, the whole camera) and the software says “Do you want to save to your computer, e-mail or share online?” I chose share online, signed into YouTube and it uploaded the video. The whole thing, including it automatically installing the software, took less than 15 minutes and I was able to do it all myself. I didn’t even have to ask Nicole (our 20-year old resident tech expert) for help! At the bottom of the e-mail is the link for it from Amazon – it tells all the details. I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I bought it. Even if I never use it again, the video of Logan is priceless and was worth the $130. We have over 200 new products this week in over 20 different catagories. We have lots of travel, including a custom luggage tag that we can customize with your name and address or any other saying you choose, i.e., Vegas or Bust! We have general travel sayings and lots of products for England, Canada, Florida and a new line from Reminisce called “Coastal Passion”. It reminds me of New England summers. We also have a graduation line from Marah Johnson for Creative Imaginations. There were several posts on the blog asking for “Class of…” die cuts. We made them this week, and you can choose the year and your school colors (Go Class of ’85!) We also made cuts for other special requests, including trap shooting, baton twirling and a quail. If you have special requests, let us know on the blog. Also, if you could give us some ideas as to what images, sayings, etc. you want to see, it would be really helpful. I’ve never been trap shooting before and I wouldn’t have known to make a die cut that says “Calling for the Bird” if our customer hadn’t given us the “lingo”. :-) We have papers and stickers for lots of sports categories from Scrappin’ Sports & More, and we also have a brand new line for scrapbooking your pregnancy from Creative Imaginations. It’s really cute and it’s the first time I’ve seen anything like it. It even comes with a little journal. Click here to see all the items: http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/50708.html. We also have 2 new lines available for pre-order this week. First is a heritage inspired line by Kimberly Poloson with two collections: Old Fashioned Flowers and Cabana Blooms. It’s blues and browns and greens and oranges with antique floral patterns. Second are 12 awesome “Photo Scrap Albums” from K&Co. It’s combination pre-made scrapbook and photo album and it’s perfect when you want something quick. They would also make a great gift for someone who wants to dabble in scrapbooking but hasn’t started yet. Our estimated ship date on these items is May 28, and remember that any order with any of these items on it won’t ship until then. If you need your other items sooner, please place two separate orders. Click here to see: http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/preorder.html. It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and we made a special die cut for the #1 Teacher in your life. I am so lucky that both my kids have awesome teachers. They both love going to school and I know it’s partly due to the great teachers they get to spend time with everyday. To teachers everywhere…thanks for all you do! As mentioned above, here is the link to the Flip video camera: Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes – hopefully you’ll love it as much as I do! As always, thanks for your business!
