Greetings from Southern Utah!  Unfortunately, our vacation got off to a rocky start.  The night before we left, my 5-year old son Logan was running a fever, so my husband Tony took him to the after hours pediatric place.  It was the  "It must be a virus and there is nothing we can do" visit.  Thankfully, he never felt bad, just had a fever.  Then, when we arrived, only 3 of our 6 checked bags arrived with us.  Southwest Airlines loaned us 2 car seats, but I had to wear the same clothes for 2 days.  Thankfully, we flew into a big city, so I went to Wal-Mart and got PJ’s, underwear and mascara.  But…no makeup, no flat-iron and most importantly, no medications.  Now I know that when they tell you to pack what you can’t live a few days without in your carry-on, they mean it!    We spent yesterday up in the mountains and the kids got to have a snowball fight.  Click here to see the You Tube video:  Florida Kids in Utah.  The snow was beautiful.  Yes, I know all you Northerners are tired of it and are glad it’s gone, but it’s beautiful to us Southerners (for about 5 minutes, anyway) :-)   As we drove through all the mountain passes, I couldn’t help but think of all the pioneers who traveled without the benefit of a heated car with portable DVD players and a GPS so that you don’t get lost (just got one for this trip – Garmin nüvi 660 Portable GPS Navigator - it’s fantastic!  Even found the closest Starbucks!)  I cannot even fathom trying to cross some of the mountains we did in a covered wagon, never knowing what’s ahead and if you made the right choice.  Thinking about the pioneers fills me with a sense of determination to live my life in the same way…always pressing forward even when I don’t know what’s ahead, all for the sake of a better life.  I hope I can do justice to the pioneer women before me. Many of you have been asking about the new Travel Line from Teresa Collins and we have it this week.  We also have two new beach lines, including Seaside Wedding from Creative Imaginations.  We also have a Summer Fun line from CI.  We have an Oriental line and lots more sports and games papers, rub-ons and stickers. We have new travel, Disney and pirate from Paper Wizard and of course, the SYT Design Room has been hard at work.  We focused on Spain, Scotland, China, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Music, Road Cycling, Pets and in honor of my 41st birthday this weekend, customized birthday diecuts! We even started making die cuts with patterned paper.  It’s opened up a whole new world of possibilities!  Click here to see them all:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/52808.html.   We also have 2 brand new suppliers for pre-order this week:  Crate Paper and Scenic Route Paper Co.  We have an estimated ship date of June 18th on any of these products, so remember, if  you need your other items sooner, please place them in a separate order.  Click here to see:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/preorder.html.  Today is also the last day for the pre-order from Prima.  Click here to place a last minute order:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/prima.html.   As always, thank you for your business!   Julie Swatek, President Scrap Your Trip® www.ScrapYourTrip.com http://blog.scrapyourtrip.com ‘cuz life is a trip worth scrappin’®

    Julie,
Thanks again for wonderful products, especially the road cycling, love it! I will be placing my order today.

Just wanted to share a quick note with you after reading your blog about vacation. I had to chuckle a
bit after reading your note about your son running a
fever right before you left on vacation. I think that is the story of every parent right before you leave on vacation. The very same scenario played out in our house when our son was small. Your not alone. Looks like the kids had a ball in the snow, growing up in a small town in California where we got snow, it brings back great memories of being a kid with not a care in the world, throwing snowballs. Enjoy your time with them, you will blink and they will be graduating high school. Have a great vacation, and again thank you for caring about your clients, the new products again are great!

Terri is right…we’ve all been through it. My now 38-year-old daughter was 5 the first time we drove from Chicago to Hilton Head, S. C. An hour and a half away from home she started “being sick” and it lasted all the way to HH. The hospital on the island was able to diagnose a massive kidney infection! Poor little kid! but hey, she survived and so did we!

As to the “New stuff” last week and this….my budget is NEVER going to survive this! Talk about a case of “gotta have”! Yikes! You are bringing us really nice product, your presentation is excellent (meaning we can actually SEE what we’re buying!!!!) and it is well-packaged for prompt shipment. Good “communicating” too, which is important. You are all doing a great job, and my Scrapbooking Room is filled to overflowing……
