Scrap Your Trip Adds 273 Items + Imaginisce/Cloud 9 Pre-Order

Entry Filed under: New Items Added

I just love to travel!  But you probably wouldn’t have guessed that from someone who started the first travel-specific scrapbooking website, huh?  Some people work to play sports, some to fish, but my husband Tony & I both work to travel.  I love to see the diversity of the planet and realize that there is so much more than just my little tiny corner of the world.  When we were at Bryce Canyon in Southern Utah, my daughter Lauren and I were sitting on a bench overlooking the canyon.  I said, "Can you believe that these rocks have been here for millions and millions of years?  Even all the trees are older than us.  You know what I think about when I sit here and look at all this?  Our life is so incredibly short compared to the time it took to make this canyon look like this.  We’re only on the planet for such a small amount of time…We have to make sure that we live the best life we possibly can in the short time we’re here."  I know she’s only eight, but hopefully she will remember this lesson someday.

I posted some pictures of our trip below and on the blog (only 10 out of 378). :-)   If you ever have a chance to go to Southern Utah, take it!  This is our second trip and it is absolutely spectacular scenery.  I actually prefer the Colorado Rockies to the Utah Rockies, but for "red rock", Southern Utah, can’t be beat.

We have a really wide variety of new items this week.  EK Success has been hard at work redesigning and adding to the Jolee’s line and we have over 80 new embellishments, ranging from travel to sports to wedding, even one for scrapbooking a job interview!  We have a beach collection from Flair and four new collections from Creative Imaginations – Asian Fusion, Germany, Australia and Canada.  We have both boy and girl pirate collections from Rusty Pickle and some awesome new outdoors and hunting papers and stickers, including some new Realtree® papers.  We have also done the work of matching Bazzill cardstock colors for you and each line has a coordinating Bazzill pack.  Of course the SYT Design Room was hard at work, designing die cuts for summertime and travel, color guard, choir, dance, bowling (including a custom bowling jersey).  My favorite this week is the red-eyed tree frog.  He’s so cute!  Click here to see all the items:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/60408.html

We also have the Cinnamon Stick and Cocoa Mint lines from Cloud 9 and four new lines from Imaginisce for pre-order.  The estimated ship date is June 25th, so if you need your other items sooner, please place them in a separate order.  Click here to see the pre-order lines:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/cl9imaginisce.html.  Today is the last day to pre-order Crate Paper and Scenic Route collections.  Click here to see:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/preorder.html.

I just unpacked, but I’m going to have to pack again because I’m headed to Chicago this weekend on a business trip.  One part of the trip is a user group meeting for our back-end software so I can learn how to run our business more efficiently.  The other part is the Internet Retailer Conference where I am speaking on "Practical Tips for Small Business".  It’s the largest conference of the year for people who sell online and I can’t wait to learn all sorts of new things to keep making Scrap Your Trip better and better.  I can almost taste the Portillo’s chocolate cake shake already!

As always, thanks for your business :-)

Scrapbooking Picture Lauren & I hiking down a steep hill at Kodachrome Basin. This place seemed like we were on Mars! Scrapbooking Picture Lauren wanted to use the camera. :-) Usually she’s a much better photographer than this! Scrapbooking Picture Lauren, Logan and I at Bryce Canyon. At the top of this canyon was a plaque with the following inscription from Henry David Thoreau – “I need solitude. I have come forth to this hill… to see the forms of the mountains on the horizon – to behold and commune with something greater than man.” Scrapbooking Picture We all went 4-wheeling on ATV’s – one of the highlights of our trip. When we went to get on the ATV’s, Logan was really mad because he wanted to know where his was! Tony “let him drive” for a bit, but he said the front was “too scary!”. I slid around a corner and half took out a tree, but only minor damage to me and the tree. :-) Scrapbooking Picture A slot canyon we were able to visit on our ATV tour. Scrapbooking Picture This was a road named “Main Street” that the GPS told us to go down! Scrapbooking Picture Tony and the kids at the Sundance Resort. Scrapbooking Picture Tony and the kids goofing off back in our room. Scrapbooking Picture The kids at the “sand cave”. The sandstone walls of this cave had sand of all different colors…red, orange, purple, black, white, tan, even green. The kids made layered sand bottles. This place was really cool! Scrapbooking Picture The sign the SYT staff made that was waiting for me when I got back. We get a lot of use out of our laser!

Hi Julie, I love your blog regarding both traveling and Southern Utah. I also work to travel and have been many places – and all in the U. S.! I’m 65 and not through yet. My grandson quickly figured out who in the family loved to travel. He asked, “grandma would you take me to Mt. Rushmore?”. Well, of course that trip is coming up the first of July – just he and I. Little does his little 9 year old self know that there are tons of things to do in that part of SD including the Mammoth Site where he will be joining in a “junior paleontologist dig”, the wild mustang ranch, gold-panning, rock climbing, etc. Also, I totally agree with you regarding Bryce Canyon NP. It’s totally awesome. Zion NP is as well. I stayed in a wonderful B & B outside Bryce and had a wonderful stay there. My next venture will be Arches NP and everything around there. Blessings!

Love the articles you print about your travels. Enjoy your little ones all the time, they grow up so fast. My two are soon to be 47 and 45. Last summer I went to the grand canyon, mount rushmore, yellowstone park, sedona and that is a beautiful place. Want to go to mt. zion and bryce canyon sometime. Stay well and safe.
    Belated happy birthday. wanda

I love to travel too. My husband and I are heading to Wyoming & Utah in a couple of weeks. I’ve “pre-ordered” my scrapbook titles and stickers from you :)

As I read your blog, I thought about when I travel and look at God’s BEAUTIFUL Creation, I like to give PRAISE (credit) to HIM alone.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Psalm 95:3-7 For the LORD is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down in worship,
    let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
    for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
    the flock under his care.

I also don’t believe that this beautiful earth has been around for millions of years. I don’t want to go into that in detail but I just believe that God created it in the literal 7 days He said He did in Genesis 1 & 2. There’s a great organization that explains this really well. Answers in Genesis – check it out. (www.answersingenesis.org)

I felt I needed to share my faith – God is our Creator and Jesus is my Savior.
Thanks! I love your website, Julie.

Julie – as usual, I loved your comments and all the items added this week. The scrapbooking and travel additions are particularly welcome.

Now, I have a problem…….I have been accumulating things I want from each week into the shopping cart. Each week I add more. My total was around $98.00. Since there isn’t a wish list, I’ve been using the cart as my wish list, occasionally even printing it off and using it as I have money and can make an order. Tonight when I went it, my cart was empty! Where did my order go? Yikes! I lost all that stuff I’ve been accumulating to order! Any ideas? (Of course, I managed to find another $50+ from this new items added list, but I have been carefully ordering stuff a bit at a time for an upcoming cruise/trip to NY and the NE states and Canada. You’ve come up with some wonderful things for my scrapbook(s) (I have to make one for my friend and traveling companion also)….and now they are gone! (sob!)

Keep up the great offerings – I love your site and give it to strangers on the street almost!

    Julie,
Thanks for sharing your photos, sounds like you had a fabulous trip, and glad to hear the kids were well. I agree with you on what Utah has to offer. We did Zion, Bryce, Arches, and a few more last summer. I have to say Zion was my favorite, we did the Narrows hike, and walked back in about 8 miles. It was awesome, and the photos I got were great! Glad to hear that you had a great time.
I just received my most recent order, and always the goodies are great!
    Thank you

I agree with you about Utah. Zion, Bryce and Arches are all very beautiful. Speaking of red rock, Sedona is also a beautiful place to go for that. My husband and I get to go there often as our son is a hot air ballon pilot who flies for a Sedona company during the summer. It is a nice get away place for us and only about a two hour drive from our home. I also love to travel and have seem a lot of the US. I have been to all but three states. I stumbled upon your site a couple of years ago when looking for travel items.
Unfortunately I also lost items I had been saving in my cart, like a reader before me.
I love your site. Keep up the good work.
