Scrap Your Trip Adds 293 Items & Debuts Own Paper Line!

Entry Filed under: New Items Added

Aahh…the sheer madness of trying to get kids ready for school in the morning.  It’s like a finely choreographed dance.  Each step has to happen on time and in sequence or it all falls apart.  My kids started school on Monday and it’s been a tough adjustment getting up at 5:30 again (kids at 6:30).  They keep asking why we’re waking them up when it’s still night time.  Get dressed…brush your teeth…make breakfast…pack lunches…why haven’t you brushed your teeth yet?  We started getting up an extra 15 minutes early this year so it’s not so chaotic, but this morning everyone (including me) was in slow motion and we could have used an extra hour!  Our friends have a son who also started Kindergarten this year and yesterday he said to me, "Why didn’t you tell us it’s so HARD getting them to school in the mornings?!?"  It’s like the pain of childbirth – we tend to block it out and you think "It won’t be that way for me!" :-)

The kids are so excited to be back.  Logan was so nervous on the first day he told us he thought we was going to throw up.  We told him it was just his nerves, but he said "No, my tummy feels rumbly!".  Lauren is thrilled and feeling like a "big kid" because starting this year (3rd grade), they switch classes throughout the day.  It’s amazing that she’s starting that in 3rd grade.  I didn’t start that until high school!  She also was finally able to see Matthew, the love of her life that she has been pining away for all summer.  And in true female fashion, she saw him, went "eh" and came home to declare Kevin is her new love.  I’m sure Matthew will be crushed. :-)

I am so excited to announce to debut of our very own line of paper!  I came up with idea after seeing how some of my Utah pictures turned out (the dirt paper is a picture Lauren took).  Just like our die cuts, there are lots of papers that you request that just aren’t available in the marketplace.  So, just like our die cuts, if I can’t find it for you, we’ll just make it!  If you have any additional paper ideas for us, please post them on our blog.

Along with our new papers, we have a great selection of over 290 new items this week.  We have new travel albums, idea books, glitter paper and Just the Edge from Bazzill.  We have the Passport collection from Making Memories, Russia, China and India collections from Dove of the East, felt ribbon from Queen & Co and 3 new Disney page kits.  In honor of back-to-school, we also have 2 different back-to-school collections; one from Reminisce and one from Moxxie.  They are two totally different looks, but both have papers for each year of school so you can make a complete album.  The SYT Design Room even made a customized pencil border!  Click here to see all the items:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/82708.html.

We’re having some trouble with the wishlist this morning, so if it doesn’t look right to you, that means I haven’t gotten it fixed yet.  I have a call into the programmers and hopefully it will be fixed by this afternoon.

Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

As always, thanks for your business.

I have some awesome photos from our Spring 2006 trip to Israel. You are one of the few places that has ANYTHING scrapbook related for Israel. (I did purchase most of what you carry so thank you!) However, it would be awesome to see some more Israel related scrap book supplies esp. paper beyond just Hannukuh & Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s.

Thanks for your consideration on this!

Thank you so very much for the new SYT papers. They are beautiful and actually cheaper than printing my own photos on 12 X 12 paper. I immediately purchased all of the Chicago papers. My youngest is in Grad school in Chicago and these will be a great way to scrap her journey through Roosevelt U.

Thanks again for responding to our scrappin needs.

We race cars, but not Nascar. How about some pictures of both asphalt and dirt tracks so that I can add pictures of our cars? I have pictures of tracks, but no way to make them into 12×12 sheets.

    Thanks!

I have been looking for paper and stickers for high school and college reunions and for sororities and fraturnities. Would you please see if there is anything out there. I have found a few stickers for my college sorority, but not much. I was an Alpha Delta Pi and a Pi Kappa Alpha little sister. I have so many great pictures I would like to put in an album.

    Thanks,
    Darlene

I have been looking for die cuts, stickers, papers or just anything for the sport of Curling. There isn’t anything out there, even here in Saskatchewan Canada which is home to the most avid curling fans and best curlers. How about carving out a little niche for yourself in this so far unexplored market?

I love the new papers, especially the Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. I’m betting those are the ones from your own photos. Many times I’ve sat looking at my photos and thought, if I only had a paper like that! I have been known to take things to the color copier and make my own. Of course, they are one inch short of my 12 X 12 page, but I manage by adding a border or embellishment. My last “great” thing was taking a bag of beautiful leaves I picked up at Lake Placid, dumping them out on the copier (I didn’t want them to look placed, but fallen) and making some beautiful papers. One funny note; a lady came in to actually mail something (go figure using the mail center for that – LOL) and said, are you making place mats? I had not thought of that, but did then use those same leaves for place mats for Thanksgiving. It’s amazing what one bag of leaves can do!

Would love to see more railroading paper. You have had some in the past and I bought it. But, would really like to see a broader variety. There are a lot of us Railfans out here and I am sure I can’t be the only one into scrapping.

Hi Julie, You have done it again!!!!!! I love the new “SYT” paperline! You’re doing a great job and I recommend people to your site all the time on one of the MB’s that I frequent.

    Wishing you continued success!

Oh, I really love the new papers! Amazing! Really Breathtaking!! I’ve never been to most of those places, but I’m very tempted to buy the papers and keep them for future use or even frame them. I love them so much! I took a trip to Gatlinburg in March. I can’t find any papers having to do with Gatlinburg. I can’t even really find any interesting papers on Tennessee. Would you be able to look for some? I would really love some from your own line! Thanks a bunch and keep doing the fantastic job you already are! Thanks a bunch, April

A few suggestions for your new paper line (which is fabulous!):
Trees – both evergreens and deciduous; trees against a blue sky; a foggy day; mountains. I have a wonderful picture taken last year in Alberta that shows the tops of several moubtains surrounded by pine trees. It would make a wonderful page.

Keep up the good work, Julie and crew. I can’t wait for Wednesdays to have my own little private time (while DH is at Rotary) to peruse your new offerings, and make a list of all the ones I want to order.

As usual I love all of the new stuff. The Dirt paper you made from your daughter’s photo is great….she should find some photo contests to enter that photo in.

My husband and I were talking the other day, trying to come up with ideas for a weekend trip to celebrate our one year anniversary in October. I come to the SYT website for ideas………is something wrong with me?? :)

One suggestion I have…..I just completed (I think) my wedding album and one thing I had problems finding was a “Here Comes The Bride” that worked with the papers I was using. I found just one sticker from Jolie and the colors weren’t right. I finally ended up printing it out on velum and using that, but maybe some pretty die cut that people could choose the color of would be nice.

Thanks so much for all of the wonderful stuff!! Oh, and I think it’s great that there is always a handwritten note on the invoices.

Julie…all the new stuff looks great; as for the Scottish “pouch” you have listed: the correct term is SPORRAN, the Gaelic word for Purse.
Hope you’ll correct that on the site! Already have it pegged for my wish list along with the other new Scottish items!! Thanks!

Hi! I’m new to your site and ABSOLUTELY LOVE the items you offer. I have been scrapping with a well-known company for about 3 years and was getting pretty disgusted at the way their selection has become so limited so I am thrilled to find your site! Thanks!

  • 14. Mandy&hellip  |  August 27th, 2008 at 8:07 pm

Well, along with everyone else, I love your new paper line! :-) Just a thought… would it be possible for you to make custom papers, kind of like how you do custom titles and all? So if I had a certain picture that I would love to have made into a 12×12 piece of paper? Would that be possible? Beyond that, perhaps you could offer a sort of photo contest to your “amateur photographer” customers, with the winning photo(s) being featured as new 12×12 papers?

I just had no idea that you were able to make your own 12×12′s. There are so many possibilities and so much potential! :-)

I am looking for… Girls Weekend… title, stickers, papers, etc. — we have been going away (just us “girls”) for a weekend each year… we quilt, shop, eat, lounge, do manicures/pedicures, eat at a fabulous pie place in Sun Prairie, WI, etc. etc. so am looking for something — we are all, of course, in our 40′s… so the “Girls Night Out” just wasn’t long enough! Thanks.
ALSO… am looking for titles, stickers, papers for vacationing at the LAKE — we have a place at Clear Lake, Iowa and go there often… am thinking others vacationed closer to home this year also… anything?
Thanks much! Appreciate your unique offerings!

I always come to your website first when looking for scrapbooking materials. But the only thing that you don’t have – is anything to do with RED tractors. We are not JOhn Deere fans at this farm and it’s hard to find red tractor items to do scrapbooking! Is there anything you can find out there to help with this? I know lots of people in the area where I live that would appreciate this. I scrapbook with alot of farm wives here in good old South Daktoa. Any help is appreciated!!

    THANKS A BUNCH

All the new stuff is great! SYT is going to put me in the poor house! But, what a way to go!

Some church-related diecuts would be great: We go on a WOMEN’S RETREAT each year (I’m chair for the third year – LOTS of pix to scrap) – Could say FALL RETREAT too. I’m sure a lot of gals would use MISSION TRIP as well…..all kinds of things the gals do with their various churches.

Would be good to have some LOCAL governmental things, too…..Red, white and blue “ELECTED!” or “ELECTION – 1991″ (we could choose the year to be shown) “MAYOR” – “PRESIDENT” – “ALDERMAN” – “TRUSTEE” – “COMMISSIONER”. How about “GUEST SPEAKER” (when you’re a guest speaker they often present you with an appropriate photograph) As an old retired mayor, I can tell you there are LOTS of photos sitting in boxes waiting to be scrapped. And yes, that was a “TRIP” to be scrapped!

Julie, I love Mandy’s(#14) idea for a photo contest and for the possibilites of making custom paper.
One thing I have always wished I could get in paper are 12×12 sheets with a name all over it. If I had papers that just said “Michael” all over, upside down, sideways, diagonals, in all different colors there are so many childhood photos of my grandson I could just stick on and need no comment or journaling. Just a way to save the many random expressions and joys of his childhood.
If you could design a template for that idea and we could custom order names we wanted, oh boy!
Love what you have done so far. Also like Betsey’s (#10) idea for trees and Darlene’s (#4) for school reunions – I have FOUR waiting to be scrapped and can find nothing.

Oh and Julie, make lunches the night before for heavensake! Reduce morning stress :-)

  • 20. Diane&hellip  |  August 28th, 2008 at 11:14 am

Once again, I’m just amazed. The pictures of the glaciers in Alaska – WOW. I have my own pictures and am working on my trip — you just keep coming up with more stuff to order! I, too, will be on my way to the poor house but what a way to go! Just wanted to say “Keep up the Great work” and selections. I’ve recommended your site to so many people — it’s the best out there! Again, love the new SYT papers, especially since we just got back from Alaska! They are great!

  • 21. Terri Brewster&hellip  |  August 28th, 2008 at 6:11 pm

    Julie and Company,
Again, Great Job! I had no idea that you could turn your photos into 12 x 12 paper. I am a travel photographer, and guess I am behind the times, I would love to turn some of my photos into 12 x 12 paper, where does one go to do that?
On another note, I agree with the woman above who said pack lunches the night before!!! Absolutely, that is what I always did and it worked like a dream. But at the same time, I know mornings can be hectic, trying to get them up, dressed and breakfast down them for the day. Just appreciate it when you start to feel like you want to pull your hair out. The day will come soon, when they get up on their own, grab their own breakfast, and run out the door to College. Time goes quickly, treasure that time.

    Hi Julie,
LOVE your sire and company. Always get the best service and love the personal touches on the invoices and the newsletter with your life stories. How perfect that yuo have a new line of paper and would like our input. I have looked high and low for paper that looks like mud and for embellishments to go with it. I see you have dried mud/dirt paper but how about some wet, goopy stuff? My boys got to go to a huge mud puddle party (yes, I know the mess!) and I have a ton of pictures but only brown cardstock to use. Maybe some mud splats die cuts to go along and a “Pig Pen” title or two along those same lines?? Also, they got hosed off afterwards by the fire trucks (from far away) and something to go along with a big red fire engine would lookk great. Keep up the fantastic job!
P.S. I have my kids pick out their clothes the night before and pack their backpacks up before bed to cut down on morning chaos and so far, it works like a charm! Good luck.

one more thing, I was in a LSS store last weekend and 3 people were chatting about how hard it is to find decent travel papers and I gave them your site. They have a computer in the store and all 3 placed orders and the store actually posted your site on a card by the register to let others know! Word of mouth is a wonderful thing!!
