Scrap Your Trip Adds 243 Items

At some point in time, children begin to put two and two together and start to realize where the food we eat comes from.  This happened with Logan the other night at dinner.  He was goofing off at the table instead of eating (big surprise there!), so I said "Logan, eat some of your chicken".  He looked at me and said "Chicken?  Like the thing with feathers?"  I knew exactly where this conversation was going.  Logan is practically a vegetarian anyway and I thought this was going to be the end of his meat eating days.  "Yes, honey, like the thing with feathers."  I went back to eating and hoped if I didn’t make a big deal out of it, the moment would pass.  After a few seconds of being ignored, Logan said "Uh, hello!  I’m eating a bird here!"  It was one of those moments that took all I had not to bust out laughing.  "Yes, honey, you’re eating a bird."  Amazingly, he wasn’t fazed by it and went back to eating.

We’re in the third week of school and Lauren came home with her reading test scores yesterday.  Please indulge me for a moment and let me be a braggy mom.  Even though she’s only a third grader, she tested at an eighth grade reading level!  Our web designer, Nicole, got her hooked on Harry Potter over the summer and she has been obsessed ever since.  She’s had her nose buried in a Harry Potter book for months and she’s about halfway done with the fourth book.  It obviously helped her reading ability.  I’m so proud :-)   I’m also really happy, because I have managed to pass down my love of reading.  Being a reader has really enriched my life and I’m so happy that it looks like she will follow in my footsteps down this path.

We have 243 new products this week in a variety of themes:

I really enjoy reading your email letters. I look forward to them. I don’t send them to the trashcan until I have read them through. Most business emails I just send to the trashcan if I don’t need anything from that company. I will save them up if I don’t have time right then to read them and then read them later.
You have the right to brag about your daughter’s ability to read well above her grade. My daughter is gifted that way too. I home schooled her for the first 4 years if school (K-3) When she started public school they had to test her to see what grade to put her in and she tested out at 6th grade 9th month (meaning at the end of 6th grade and she had just finished 3rd) I was so proud of her and relieved that I hadn’t done something wrong. She is in 8th grade now and her last year reading test tested her at 12th grade 9th month(freshman in college level) Wow!!
So pop your buttons MOM I do from time to time. Regards from Roberta

    Julie,

I couldn’t have received your e-mail at a better time. I just looked through your new items, and so many of them “hit the nail on the head” for me. One of our daughters will be travelling to Japan next Summer, and the other will be travelling to Holland. So, many of the new papers are perfect for the upcoming scrapbooks.

Plus, some of your new die-cuts will work well for our pet photos.

I LOVE your web-site. You have provided me with so many papers and embelishments that I would not be able to find anywhere else.

    Thanks! You friend, Molly

I just love reading. :-) When I got your email this time, I couldn’t help smiling to myself. My husband and I have spent more on books the last month or so than I think we ever have! We’ve been talking about all the great books we had to read when we were growing up in school and how many of them we’d like to read again even though we’re in our mid-twenties. I just recently posted a blog about that myself, and listed all the books I could remember from those days (click on my name to read the blog).
Even my husband, who sided against the Harry Potter series a few years ago (you remember… it was so controversial back then), has started reading them for himself and has been enjoying them! We have already decided that if we ever have children we want to encourage them to enjoy reading and the outdoors as much as we do, and not just set them in front of a computer, TV or video game console like some of our friends have. I try not to judge them for that, but it’s so sad to me that people don’t care anymore about reading and enjoying nature and so many other things that make life beautiful.
Sorry to get on a soapbox, but I really just wanted to let you know I think it’s awesome that your daughter loves to read and at such a high level! :-) Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Julie and Staff!

About a year ago my mother showed me the wonderful joy of scrapping. So i thought what a better way to put those vacation pics to use. So I googled vacation scrapbooking and the first one I saw was scrap your trip.com. I had found my new scrapbooking supply home. When I received my first order I was very pleased with the personal touch at the top or bottom of my packing slip. It showed me that time and care went into each of my orders. I told others about the site, but they were more interested in the embelleshments offered on other sites that take a month to arrive. I much prefer the papers that your company offers. Well it’s been almost a year and I so look forward to the blogs from Julie and the new items added to the company.

One of the things that I look forward to the most is the hand written thanks from your staff. Along with the thanks there is always a business card with my discount for future orders on it. Some times I did not get a chance to use those discounts because I would leave the card at home and I do most of my shopping from work on my lunch break.

Friday night I got home and there was my latest shipment from Scrapyour trip.com and before I even looked at what purchases I made I went straight for the packing slip to read my had written thanks, and the business card with the discount. It was not there so I did not panic, I flipped to page two of my order form (thanks to the 20% discount last week!) and there was a lengthy paragraph of thank yous to me!

I was so excited that you were able to give me a special discount that it actually brought tears to my eyes. Never again will I forget to bring my discount card to work in my wallet before it expires. Never again will I have to remember the date that it expires. I feel truly appreciative that you bestowed this honor on me that I am telling all of my scrap buddies that they better get back on and look for their embellishments there too!.

Thank you again for showing so much appreciation to fanactis like me who can’t have enough paper and embelishments to make our scrapbooking pages pop!

    Ava
