Scrap Your Trip Adds 221 Items + Cloud 9 Limited Quantity

Do you know what "Ichthyology" is?  I didn’t either, until my 3rd grade daughter, Lauren, had to study it for school this week.  It’s a branch of zoology devoted to the study of fish.  She can now identify all the parts of a fish, including parts I’ve never heard of before.  It is amazing to me the things she is learning in school.  Here’s just a few of her spelling words for the week:  celebration, fascination, legislation, manufacture, possession, declaration…these are only 6 out of the 24!  I don’t remember what spelling words I had in 3rd grade, but I’m pretty sure it was words like book, play, cat and dog.  :-)   I realize I’m showing I’m getting a little older by the whole "Well, when I was your age…" comparison, but the differences between what it was like when I was a kid and now are just mind-blowing.  Every generation goes through this, I know, and I’m sure to each generation it seems like things have changed faster.  My kids don’t know what a film camera is, they’ve never waited all week for the Wizard of Oz to come on TV and it’s never occurred to them that there was a time that you couldn’t "Google" an answer you trying to find.  It’s kind of exciting and scary at the same time to think about how different life will be 10, 20, 30 years from now!

We have over 200 new items this week, including tons of travel!  We also have the Finley’s Estate Collection from Cloud 9 available in limited quantities.  Just like Dandlion Wishes last week, once an item is gone, it’s gone for good.  Fall is in the air (even here in Orlando – it’s dropped all the way down to 80 degrees!), so we’ve got a Harvest collection from Best Creations.  We have the Sports Reflections line from Scrappin’ Sports & More, along with lots and lots from Paper House.  They are one of my faves, so we went through the catalog and picked out stuff we hadn’t ordered (including the above mentioned Wizard of Oz).  We added more Just the Edge colors from Bazzill and the SYT designers have had a lot of fun this week between our die cuts and our papers.  We have crew and white water papers for those of you who requested them.  We even made a customized Disney name tag for you Disney enthusiasts out there!  Click here to see them all:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/whatsnew.html.

As always, thanks for your business!

I just love Wednesdays and always look forward to cranking up the computer each week to see all the new items available. It is like Christmas each week! The variety of items satisfies any croppers. I do think each time that I see all the papers and stickers of various places and countries, that I need to win the lottery just to go to a these places just so I can have pictures to go with the papers and stickers. ha ha. Thanks again!

Thanks for sending the weekly updates. Many of your new papers are better than the pictures I have to put on them.

My wife and I took a trip to Niagara Falls this summer and I am looking for a Niagara Falls scrapbbok. Any ideas?? When we went to Alaska and Hawaii we were able to find scrapbooks with covers depicting were we were, but we couldn’t find any of Niagara Falls.

Also, some Niagara embellishments would be nice.

    Thanks,
    _Rick

A couple weeks ago someone requested stuff for class reunions, both high school and college. I have been looking at at all my local scrapbooking stores and I haven’t found anything. Can you help? Thanks.

As a California third grade teacher for the last 20 years, I know what you mean about the changing curriculum! 3rd grade math used to mean subtraction review and then the big focus on multiplication and division. Now I teach multiplication, division, fractions (including simplifying them!) decimals (including converting them to fractions and back again,) and an entire geometry unit with vocabulary like perpendicular, intersecting, parallel, diameter, radius, rectangular prism, acute and obtuse angles etc. etc. Obviously it is overwhelming to all but the sharpest students, and at a Title 1 school with a majority of second language learners… you can just imagine. Ahhh, the beauty of No Child Left Behind (which translates to Most Children Left Behind.)
But I digress, my point is, you ain’t see nothin’ yet for the third grade curriculum! Enjoy these years though, once the children leave elementary school the rest is a blur!
I really enjoy your website and updates.

    Hey Julie,
I just found the blog. Duh, don’t know what took me so long.

I had send you an email a few weeks ago by replyiing to the emails you send us. :) I don’t know if you got it, or you just weren’t interested in my idea.

I thought maybe you and your clients might want to meet up for a Scrapbooking@Sea cruise? Princess offers them, and I just became an expert in all things Princess Cruises with my new buisness and my course study. I thought it might be fun.

Anyway, stop on over at my blog, post a comment, let me know you saw the message. :)

When I download my digital photos to my hard drive, I also make a CD copy. The CD copy goes to the safe deposit box at the bank (just like my negatives in the “old days”). That way I have a back up and don’t have to worry about storing them online – and having the online service disappear. Just my 2 cents.

Love your products, and continue to look forward to the new ideas. Thanks for your store, talent in finding what your customers don’t know they need yet, and great customer service.
