In a little over an hour, I will be sitting at the oral surgeon’s office, waiting for my daughter Lauren’s name to be called. She has a "mucocele" – a place where she bit her lip so hard that it severed the salivary duct and caused a cyst. At our consultation visit, she was so freaked out that they prescribed Valium for her to take both last night and this morning, before they give her the laughing gas. But last night, she said "I don’t need to take the medicine. I’m not worried about it." We talked it over and she really isn’t bothered – just very matter of fact. I’m hoping that she remains that way by the time we walk into the doctor’s office.
Dad is a different matter altogether.
I think he’s more freaked out than she is! Moms know that sometimes our kids have to hurt in order to get better. From a heel stick as an infant to holding them down for vaccinations…we know it’s what’s best for them. For me at least, that protective urge shifts from the pain in the moment to the keeping them safe long-term. Doesn’t mean I’m happy about the oral surgeon taking a scalpel to my baby, but I know it’s what’s best for her. I’m going to videotape her all goofy on the laughing gas, but I promised her it would never show up on YouTube!
Did you know that today is National Inconvenience Yourself Day? I love all the weird holidays that people create, but I read about this one in a magazine and I thought it was a great idea. So, today is the day to be kind to the stranger who’s trying to merge into traffic in front of you or take your shopping cart back to the store instead of leaving it in the parking lot. Today is a day to make the world a little better place by doing something nice for someone else, even if it inconveniences you a little bit.
We try to make your life a little easier by having lots of great new scrapbook products all in one place and this week is no exception! Hope all goes well for Lauren during and after the visit to the oral surgeon. Sounds like a large milkshake is in order in your favorite flavor. Cooling and soothing and filling when you aren’t able to chew. My thoughts are with you all.

Along with today being National Inconvenience Day, be sure to mark your calendars for April 30th, which is Pay-It-Forward Day!
If you don’t know what paying-it-forward is all about, rent the movie (Pay It Forward) or Google PIFday and do some reading.

I think it’s wonderful you’ve used Dreamstime.com to make a particular scrapbook paper (of a roller coaster). I’m a scrapbooker and a photographer-contributor to Dreamstime and am very happy you used Dreamstime.

I love this website but I would like to see alot more scrapbooking items for Bermuda. For some reason Bermuda just isn’t a hot item for scrapbook manufacturers to make. I’m going in May and would LOVE and would definitely buyitems if there was a wider variety available :]

I love Scrap Your Trip and have turned many friends on to the site. You can find many things here you just can’t find anywhere else. My request would be for more lake related items, especially die cuts or embellishments, paper too, of course!
Thanks,
Pam

I would love to see the new stitched papers by PRIMA on your website for order. I’ve seen them in magazines and now on memory makers site. They are so gorgeous. I don’t know if this is the right place to send this but thought it was worth a try. Thanks for all that you offer. Love your selection.
