What a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! I hope all the mommies out there had as wonderful of a weekend as I did!
It started out Friday with Mothers’ Day Tea at my son Logan’s Kindergarten class. Being the perpetually late person that I am, I walked in right at 1:30 when it started. Logan had a complete meltdown because he thought I wasn’t coming. (Note to self…need to be early to school events). After he calmed down, it was really nice. All the moms were in dresses and the kids made us little tea sandwiches (all by themselves). They sang us a song and gave us flower pots with flowers made out of their thumbprints and pictures (see pictures below). They each drew a picture of their mom and it was hanging on the board. We had to guess which one was us. What was really interesting about the picture that Logan drew of me was that he drew me with red fingernails. I used to have acrylic nails that I always painted red, but I haven’t worn red nail polish in over two years. Funny that it’s still how he thinks of me!
Sunday morning I was awakened by a knock at the door. Breakfast in bed! Lauren came up with the idea all on her own and made me pancakes with syrup. The cutest part was that she carried everything in on a cookie sheet! "I couldn’t find a silver platter. This is all I could find." she said. I thought it was the cutest thing ever!
They got me a jewelery set from my favorite store, Brighton and then off we went for a surprise. My husband Tony had me put an address into the GPS of the minivan and off we went. Surprise! Brunch at a "hip" downtown restaurant. Yummy! A little shopping afterwards…a new purse…what a great day!

Thanks for the custom hockey jersey! Now if I could just figure out what color all those snazzy named colors are in the list, I could design one! Is there some way to figure them out without going back through all the cardstock lists?

What a wonderful Mother’s Day you had. I do remember those days of homemad goodies from our children when they are young. My daughter (27 now) sent me a “mushy” card for the first time in her life. She said it really “spoke” to her about how she felt. All those things we try to instill in our children as they grow up and wonder if they will ever remember and ever admit that what we did for them now means so much to them…. tears, tears all over my card as I realize how lucky I am and that I did something right as a parent and have such a wonderful daughter to show for it.
Thanks for doing some family reunion die cuts. I have one coming up this summer (i’m hosting) so it will be a big deal around our house. Kathy (graykat)

I love your paper especially the paper that looks like a photograph. It looks too good to put pictures on. Any ideas on how to put to best use this type of paper? Thanks for any suggestions.

I received my order of paper from you and it is just beautiful paper. I took them to work and had show and tell and several co-workers just HAD to have your website address so they can purchase some of your great products. I told them how personable you are and how you send out friendly emails to us. I am sure they will be as pleased as I am. I am like Winnie, and dont know how to use the beautiful paper that I hate to cover up. Glad you had a great Mother’s day and your kids are adorable!

I have been using those photo pictures pages as a beginning paper for that section of the album. I typically do not cover them up with pictures, sometimes I may put a title on it. For instance when we went to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon and the kids panned for gold I just used that Gold panning page as the beginning of that section of our vacation and put the pictures on the page beside it. On that particular one I did put a small photo of my son panning for gold in the pan of that page.
The Joshua tree paper I put along side of the page that I placed our Joshua tree photos on.
It has worked out really well, it is sort of like placing a post card on one of your page. It uses up a page of your layouts but I have liked the way that they turned out. I hope this suggestion will help you out, I feel the same way, they are too beautiful to cover up with pictures. I do not like to use background paper that is too busy behind my photos, I prefer a smaller less busy page behind my photos so that it does not distract from my photos. Good Luck

I loved everything that I got in my order! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to scrapbook everything. I will have to wait though, as we are taking a trip this summer to see our son graduate as a Rhodes Scholar with his Masters, from Oxford. We will be doing some touring around Europe while we are there. It will be a trip of a lifetime. Your products will help us remember it forever. Thank you.
