Scrap Your Trip Adds 283 Items + 283 S*A*L*E Items

When you’re a kid, birthdays are all about fun.  Chuck E. Cheese and Build-A-Bear and go-kart parties and enough presents to fill up the back of your parents’ car.  One of the last birthday parties I went to for Logan was at a gymnastics center.  All the moms and dads were standing watching the kids jump on the trampoline and swing up in the air.  "This is no fair!" we all said.  "Why do all the kids get to have fun and we just have to stand here and watch?"

Well, this past weekend, I had a birthday weekend that would rival any six year old party in fun.  I do believe it was the best birthday of my adult life. :-)

As I was unlocking my office door Friday morning, I noticed the blinds in my office were closed.  "That’s odd" I thought to myself, "I don’t remember closing them when I left last night."  As I opened the door, I saw all the birthday decorations.  Some of the people in the office had decked out my office.  (pictures start below).  Then there was a surprise lunch for me at Olive Garden (Yum!  Breadsticks!)  We went to the movies Friday night (Disney/Pixar "Up!" – a really cute movie even if it was for the kids).

My husband Tony had told me that someone had a surprise day planned for me on Saturday.  My friend and co-worker, Lani, had the day all planned out.  Starbucks…shopping…lunch…more shopping.  We had a blast!  We were planning on getting a pedicure, but ran out of time.  So I took my daughter, Lauren.  She though it was really cool and it was so cute to watch her.

Then it was on to my dinner date with my husband to a yummy new-ish restaurant in Orlando called the "Ravenous Pig".  If you ever get the chance – it is absolutely fantastic!

Sunday (my actual birthday) we were off to Disney World.  This year you can get in free on your birthday, but if you are an annual pass holder, you can get a birthday FastPass good for everyone in your family for six rides.  Magic Kingdom here we come!  They give you a cute pin that says "Happy Birthday" and they write your name on it (I soon figured out why).  We headed to lunch and they came out with streamers and Mickey Mouse head confetti for our table.

We got through all six rides in four hours and it was so great not to have to wait in line!

Since I had the pin on saying it was my birthday (with my name on it), every Disney employee we passed said "Happy Birthday Julie!"  Everywhere we went, all day, people were saying "Happy Birthday!"  They even let us ride in the front of the monorail!

After the Magic Kingdom, we headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to ride Rockin’ Roller Coaster.  You have to be 48" tall to ride, and Logan has been measuring himself almost daily to see if he’s grown enough yet.  Sunday he measured tall enough, so we all excited that we’d be able to ride together.

70 minutes of waiting in the hot Florida sun and it was finally our turn.  Logan must have shrunk in the heat, because he was like 1/32" too short and they wouldn’t let him on.  I have never seen him so disappointed in his life.  Lauren was happy, though, because we did the parent switch and she got to ride twice.  Got to go get Logan taller sneakers! :-)
