The drywall work is almost done, there are no more bare concrete floors and our kitchen is mostly put back together. At least the sink isn’t on one end of the building and the fridge on the other any more!
I am headed down to Ft. Lauderdale tonight to spend with weekend with my daughter Lauren. It’s time for "The Talk." Yes, it’s time for the "birds and the bees" talk. A couple of years ago I heard a story from a woman who was one of five girls. When it was their turn for "the talk" with Mom, they got to go away on a special "girls weekend." I thought it was such a neat idea that I wanted to do the same for my daughter. Kind of a coming-of-age ritual. Anyway, I know she’ll always remember this, so I wanted to make it special for her.
I’m a little nervous..okay, I’m a lot nervous, but she’s going to be in summer camp with kids older than her and I want her to hear it from me first. Wish me luck!
