Scrap Your Trip Adds 263 Items + 263 S*A*L*E Items

Entry Filed under: New Items Added

I received this e-mail from a customer, “MollyMcPaws”, yesterday that really surprised me.
I saw an ad on the news today about submitting a small business (gives back to community, great customer service, takes American Express, profits less than 10 million) for the Shine A Light program which results in a grant as an award.  I was going to do this quietly and let them email you BUT than I saw you had to have permission from the business first to submit the nomination.  I can’t think of any business in my neck of the woods but thought immediately of yours.  Home grown and thriving with the community and customer service being at the forefront.  I am hoping you say Yes…this sort of sounds like asking someone to the prom.  I don’t know how I would have managed to make all the scrapbooks and cards if I did not have your resources to choose from.
I told her that I was honored that she would think of Scrap Your Trip and that I would love to go to the prom with her!

Well, within the hour, she had submitted her nomination.  I was overwhelmed with the wonderful things she wrote about Scrap Your Trip.

There are three Judging Criteria:  Innovation (has devised a new way of working in order to survive tough times), Community (still finds ways to give back to the community, even when staying afloat is a challenge), and Customer Service (continually demonstrates a "customer first" mentality, and during challenging times recognizes that connections are more important than ever).

When I read through these criteria, I thought “this sounds like Scrap Your Trip!”  But I spent a long time thinking to myself, “How do I ask people to “Shine A Light” on my company and not sound like I am bragging?”

But here’s the thing:  my staff deserves to be recognized.  Yes, I am the face of Scrap Your Trip, but there are 24 other people who work really hard each and every day to ensure that Scrap Your Trip is a great company to do business with.

It’s Laurie and Orita, our fantastic customer service team, who answer every call and e-mail with a smile and will spend 30 minutes out in the warehouse looking for someone’s order because they wanted to add just one more thing.

It’s Mey, Antoine and Maria, our customs team, who spend their days making customized papers and die cuts, so that your scrapbooks can be even more personalized.

It’s Tiffany, Sean, Joann and Stephanie, our wonderful designers, who continue to amaze me each and every week with their creative die cut designs.

It’s Nicole, Sommer and Stephen, our products team, who spend each week getting all the new products put on our website, with images so great you feel like you are holding it in your hand.  I can’t tell you the number of Tuesday nights Nicole has been here until 10:00 pm or later, making sure everything was ready for the e-mail to go out Wednesday morning.

It’s Lucy and Robb, our receiving team, who receive in a never-ending amount of boxes of scrapbook product every day, counting each item to make sure we got what we paid for.

It’s Karen, Fran, Jessica and Hylena, our cutting room team, who make all the little pieces that make up our die cuts.

It’s Antonia, LaToya, Catherine and Debbie, our warehouse team, who quality checks each order to make sure it’s correct and packaged and shipped with care.

It’s Cindy, our order processor, who looks at each and every order and answers comments before it goes to the warehouse team.

And it’s Lani, my Operations Manager and sidekick, who keeps everything running like clockwork.

So, I humbly ask for your support to please endorse the Scrap Your Trip team.  They deserve it!  Please click here: Shine A Light on Scrap Your Trip. (You are going to have to register to endorse us.  I know it’s a pain, but I appreciate it! :-)

I have been thinking of writing you and telling you how much I appreciate your company, and this just gave me that final nudge to let you know how much I love you guys! My husband and I are missionaries working in Germany with the U.S. Army kids doing youth ministry for 3 years… and when we got here I was searching for a place to get scrapbook supplies and there was NOTHING! I found Scrap Your Trip and was thrilled, and then I was beyond thrilled to know that you ship free to APO and FPO for all of the soliders, families and civilians that are working hard over here for our country. I think you guys definitely meet the criteria to win this award, but the COMMUNITY part that you described is what keeps me returning as a customer. All of us over here that scrapbook rave about your business and are so thankful to have a great scrapbook company to order from… as we are living in Europe and have TONS of trips to scrap! Thanks again, I don’t know what I’d do without you!

I am looking for the following stickers – yellow roses, either full bloom or bud preferably on stems; caring/sharing type stickers for donations and service projects; money signage or bills for donations and ways & means projects. This could also be on a 12 x 12 sheet. Is there a minimum order for any of these being special made?
    Thank you
    Kay

One day I had to resort to looking for scrapbook supplies on line because none of the three stores in my area had a wide variety of “cross country” papers. I stumbled across your site via a Google search, and I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found you, and now I tell all my friends about your site! It is truly amazing in so many ways. I can always find excatly what I am looking for and MORE! And when the package arrives, it’s like a present — obviously packaged with so much care and attention! And I love the Wednesday emails. I don’t know you, but I feel as if I do. I love the personal touch and the stories. I am so excited when they pop into my email box — I make sure I have a cup of copy and save them for “last” as they are the best! I have been 1000% satisfied with my purchases, and know that I can count on you for quality products each time. I am THRILLED to endorse you and your team for the Shine A Light award. You touch people’s lives in a way that will last for generations — through your supplies, your personal touch, your caring for the community and your upstanding customer service! You are amazing and I’m so glad to have found you!

What everyone has already said. I have several instances of your exceptional customer service, but to list even just a few would take up way too much space! I am absolutely HONORED to endorse SYT for this grant. Huge kudos to you and all your staff! And a thank you also to MollyMcPaws for nominating you and writing that very succinct and articulate entry. Be proud; be very proud.

I was THRILLED to endorse you and your team for the Shine A Light award. Last month I attended a four day scrapbooking weekend with a group of friends in Lancaster, PA. I was working on a heritage album and had purchased the custom onsies and a tree that had my and my husbands initials carved in it. When the ladies saw these items, and how fabulous they looked on my pages, everyone had to know where I had found such unique products. Of course, I gave all of them your website address and told them about your weekly emails. Even though we have never met, I truly do feel like I know you and you would be a wonderful friend. Thanks for helping each of us preserve our memories! Keep up the great work you and your team do.

    Off to vote…

It is very seldom I have an occasion to write an “orchid” letter–usually they are “onions”. Customer service is a rare thing these days, and you and your employees have mastered it! I feel as if I have a personal friend, even tho we have never met. I look forward to your weekly emails as if hearing from a friend. The products are superior and the friendly, personal touch (especially via the internet) is a rare thing. Your community minded efforts are noteworthy and I think it comes back to you in loyal customers and lots of goodwill. If anyone deserves this honor, it SYT.

couldn’t say it any better than it’s been said in the comments preceding mine. What a great opportunity for me to, again, say kudos to you and your great staff for being all that you are and all that you strive to be. Just love SYT!!!! Already voted and honored to be able to do so!

    Hi there!
I just found out about you from the Shine A Light small business award website – so glad to find you! What a great company you have!

We actually submitted for the award as well (1154 LILL Studio Custom Handbags) – so maybe would be considered “competition” – but I just thought that our creative businesses seem to have some similarities that I thought were neat and I wanted to get in touch.

I think a lot of our customers would love your products – and probably vice versa! I just like the idea of working together to support small businesses and we might have some nice crossover. Those who love scrapbooking and those who’d like to design their own bags could be the same people. :)

Anyway – congratulations on your many endorsements! Very exciting! I’d love to talk if you’re interested in brainstorming some ideas on how we could do something together in the future!

    Thanks!
