Scrap Your Trip Grab Bag Ends Tonight

My daughter Lauren started 4th grade this year and this is the year that “musical electives”, such as band and chorus start. She wanted to be in band, but she has a really nice singing voice, so I talked her into chorus. Well, the first day of school, she came home SO excited because they had added a dance class and she wanted to do that instead. Seriously, I had never seen her so excited about anything like this before. Well, so many kids were interested that they held a lottery and only 18 kids got in. Thankfully, Lauren was one of them, because I don’t know if either one of us could have handled it if she hadn’t been chosen. They have been working on a dance all year and she has taught it to her brother Logan and they are always practicing. I captured them on video and I wanted to share. I think it’s so cute to watch Logan watching his big sister and trying to do just what she does.

My 4th grader does dance too and has for the last 4 years. She just joined band this year too. We are busy!
Love the fact that your daughter taught your son the dance. What a cute idea. I should mention it to my 4th grader!

Hey Julie,
Here’s one for you…. How do you wake up Lady GaGa?
Poker Face (Poke Her Face). That’s my 8 year old daugther’s joke.
Loved the video. Bravo to your kids!

That was awesome! As a dance teacher, it’s great to see kids practicing at home, love the enthusiasm. I actually have a boy in my class this year for the first time and he got his start learning from his sister in his living room
Keep up the good work – they have a lot of talent!

All of my kids started dancing last year, including my now 9 year old son. They absolutely love it. They are always showing each other the dances that they have learned and they have even started choreographing their own shows. I actually bought some dance papers recently from SYT so I can scrap their recitals.

Hi Julie–such a cute video! Boy does that bring back memories–3 girls, all loved to dance, practicing and making up dances. Logan doesn’t miss a trick, does he? He’s keeping right up with Lauren.
Haven’t been able to buy much lately–that’s what happens when you build a house and the economy collapses–BUT I love your notes, pictures etc. and love to LOOK and dream, so keep doing what you’re doing!

Adorable video. Fun song, I’ve never heard it before.

Too cute. That song is my tennis team’s theme. We play it in the car on the way to ‘away’ games and sing our way through it during warm-up at home games. Of course, we’re all in our 40′s & up so it’s really pretty funny.

They were great! I love watching my granddaughter dance also. She is in drill team and she loves it because of the dancing….their team is trying to raise money so they can go to nationals in florida next year. Maybe Lauren is headed for drill team, they start early! Tell her to keep up the good work!

How cute are they. I don’t know what I loved more, her great performance or the fact that they were so darn cute together. You are truly blessed with those two.

You have 2 beautiful and obviously talented children. You said you “captured” them on video, so I was wondering if they were aware that you were taping them. Logan followed along quite well, that was impressive.
I enjoy your stories and interesting points of view that I get via e-mail. I get so many e-mails, but I always open yours first.
Thank you for making the scrapbooking world such an enjoyable adventure.

Lauren and Logan really have the beat. They are adorable. It is nice to see a boy that can dance.
Hope Lauren is other dance classes, she seems to be a natural. Thanks for sharing.

They are absolutely adorable!!!!!!! Little brother has excellent rhythm too. He should be part of the performance. Best wishes and much success to your children.

Julie, your kids were absolutely adorable..they were perfect together. Looks like you made the right decision in letting Lauren take the dance class and they were lucky to get her. Logan did a fantastic job keeping up. Maybe they should consider letting him in the class, also. Congratulations on two beautiful and talented children.

Cute video! I love how he watches his big sister…

Lauren & Logan are great! I love how they enjoy being together (sometimes sisters & brothers aren’t too fond of sharing activities!) I wonder if the lyrics to this song are really appropriate for 4th graders though. Perhaps the teacher could be encouraged to choose something different next time–great beat though!
I love your site!

The dance is so cute. I wish I had a girl to do the girly things. I have 2 grown sons and love them dearly. Just seeing Logan keeping up with Lauren is priceless.

I really enjoyed watching your two children dance! They both looked great! I do agree with the comment on the age appropriate music. Being a retired teacher I know that it’s important to select music for the correct age. I think both your children have great rhythm. It was so cute to watch the two of them.

Julie: That is priceless!! I love how Logan watches and takes his cues from Lauren. I have teenage boys but I also have a video that I was able to sneak & tape while they were dancing & singing along with the Backstreet Boys video back when the boys were 4 & 6 yrs old. (keeping it for the wedding videos! LOL).

That was wonderful!!!
Lauren looks like a natural at dance and Logan was doing a great job too! He kept right up with Lauren! Pretty good considering he’s not even taking the class with her! This is one of those priceless video that you will treasure forever! (It can also be used as blackmail when needed….haha) LOL!!!
Thanks for sharing it with us all!

Great video! The kids did a wonderful job. I am forwarding it to my daughter in law as it reminds me of my grandkids, eight year old Gracie and her number one fan, her five year old brother. Keep them involved in things they enjoy. I love your products!
