I have to admit I'd never heard of Matthew Kelly until a friend of mine at church mentioned him. Now he will be speaking at our church the evening of February 10 and I'm so looking forward to hearing his message. If you live in the Cincinnati area and want to hear him speak, he will be at Madison Ave. Christian Church in Covington, KY.

On New Years day I fullfilled a life long dream of mine and that was going snow showing in the mtns of Washington state. I never did it as a kid... it was not cool way back then and at almost 60 i never thought i would do it as an adult. However, i did some training throughout the fall to get myself in better shape; stamina wise and did it. An awesome experience to be out in the snow trekking and tripping along on the huge "paddles." After a while on them, "we" became one and I could enjoy the beauty of the snow and mtns surrounding me. Can't wait to go again. Now, after reading all this on the blog about dreams, I need to find some more to make into realities.

The only dream I have right now is that my daughter get a job. She moved to St. Pete, FL 6 months ago with her boyfriend and is still job hunting. She's a graphic designer with a masters degree. Life dreams always revolve around your children because you want so much for them.

Ok so your post prompted me to go and get the book. I've now finished reading it. If your post wasn't powerful enough this book is. I need to sleep on it but I will start my dreaming tomorrow. I had stopped dreaming and have been living from day to day. My fire is now re-lit and I'm ready to take the world on.
Everyone needs to read this book and we need Dream Managers in our schools for the kids.

Oh my goodness, after posting my dreams, I read others and am concerned about #8 Leese. Leese, please talk to so0meone other than an anonymous site. Go talk to a friend, a pastor, or a psychologist or helpline. What you did was amazing. You gave your son a better life. Concentrate on that. And if you at SYT has her email, you might want to contact her and see if she is okay. Just a thought.

What a lovely idea--100 dreams! Here are a few.

1. Lose weight to a normal size
2. Live to celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary--I married at age 42, so this will be quite an acoomplishment!
3. Fly somewhere on a whim, no planning, no concern with cost, just go.
4. Live somewhere different for 3 months or so and really get to know a new area.
5. See all 50 state capitols (seen about 15 so far)
6. See the last 9 states that I have never been to.
7. Ride a zipline
8. Have enough money to be able to share more with others who have needs
9. Get a second dog
10. Learn to quilt, well. My quilts are filled with love but not much skill!
11. Buy a quilting machine
12. Be able to spend more money on Scrapbook supplies--for all those trips above!
13. Dance naked on a mountain top.
14. See my stepchildren marry.
15. See above--Since I never had kids of my own, I want to be a Grandma!
16. One more career, something new.
17. Write a murder mystery
18. Go to the worlds longest garage sale in Kentudky
19. Go gem hunting in the Smokies
20. Go to Vancouver and Victoris again

Oh my goodness, it is hard to come up with 100. When did I stop dreaming? When did I stop challenging myself to try something new? You have given me a lot to think about! Thanks!

I have seen Trans-Siberian orchestra several years in a row and have always sat on the floor and loved everytime.
A few of my dreams are:
go shopping in NYC at Christmas time.
get my divorce finally
be debt free

I can't decide if I'm lucky and have achieved most of my dreams, or if it's very sad that I have forgotten how. I can't think of anything I really dream to do - except maybe have the house to myself for a while (2 teenagers will do that to you). I am lucky to LOVE my job as a pediatrician who runs a teen clinic, reading is my favorite activity and never out of reach, I have a few good friends to spend time and dinner with, and I have been lucky enough to travel - Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, Europe, and the Egypt and the middle East.

Overall, I'm leaning toward sad that I've forgotten hot to dream and plan for new and exciting things.

Although I can't take credit for this (it was written by Neil Gaiman), I think it's a wonderful wish for the New Year. This is where I would start a Dream Book.

"May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful, and don't forget to make some art -- write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.

...I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you'll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you'll make something that didn't exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind."

Have a wonderful year!

lol Love this idea. A dream book is sort of like a bucket list. I started one of those. I really need to sat down and finish it.
