Scrap Your Trip Donates 10% of Sales to American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund

Entry Filed under: New Items Added

There are lots of great things that come from owning your own company.  I don’t get in trouble for being late to work in the morning…If I want to take a long lunch to run a few personal errands I can…and I get to choose the people I work with every day.  But the best part of owning a company?  The ability to make a bigger difference in the world through my company than I would ever be able to make as just me.

I think many of you feel as I do about the tragedy in Haiti.  “I want to help!  What can I do?  Where do I donate?  Oh, I meant to do that yesterday.”

Well, I, Julie Swatek, want to help.  So here is what I am going to do.  Scrap Your Trip will be donating 10% of sales from Wednesday 1/20 through Friday, 1/22 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.

That is 10% of SALES, not profits.

We have also set up an item HAITI on Scrap Your Trip.  It has a cost of $10.  For every $10 you “spend” on this item, we will match the amount and send a double donation to the American Red Cross.  Click here to donate:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/haiti.html

If you would like to donate directly to the American Red Cross instead of through Scrap Your Trip, please text HAITI to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

I am not adding any new products or having any additional sales this week.  I am choosing to spend that money helping the people of Haiti instead.  I think it’s a good choice. :-)

I consider it one of my purposes in life to make the world a better place, one person at a time.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do that.   See you on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/ScrapYourTrip
As always, thanks for your business.   Julie Swatek, President

Julie, this is awesome. There has never been any doubt in my mind that you and the SYT crew are an amazing bunch of people; however, this seriously cements that fact in my mind. I had told myself that I wasn’t going to shop this month so as to recover from the holidays…and see what goodies were coming at CHA. However, I know I have a couple of trips coming up and I’ll be shopping early for the supplies because I know that I’ll also be doing good by shopping with SYT.

Bless you, your family, your staff, everyone who is in Haiti helping in whatever way they can, and everyone who has been personally affected by this great tragedy.

While in Anaheim, look for the cowboys there for the Professional Bull Riding event. Cowboy butts drive me nuts!
