Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. - Robert BraultThank you to everyone who has shared their version of a day that they GET TO live over and over again.
I am struck by the simplicity of most of our “perfect days”. Of how achievable most of the things are on a daily basis.
Why then, when happiness is within our grasp, do we not take advantage of it more often?
I am really going to work on this. I think I am going to let the kids pile into my bed for extra-long snuggles tonite! And then take a bath with my cup of chai and a good book!
Have you posted your “perfect day”? Everyone who comments will be entered in a drawing for a $25 SYT Gift Certificate. My perfect day.. the day after our first born was born…husband was out at sea the day I gave birth He came back the next day.The look on his face when he picked him up and looked at him and then at me…..that was a perfect day and I knew that no matter what we did what choices we made..it would all be ok

my perfect day was spending the day with my best friend (who I am in love with) and just pretending for that day that he is mine… I don’t have a car and he picked me up at my apartment and took me to the grocery, shopping at a craft store, hair supplies lunch and then in the night we went to the malls to help him choose clothes for a party he had to go to…just for that day I felt like he was truly mine
*sigh*

A perfect day is being alone in my house (two children and a husband out doing whatever!) and getting to scrapbook with my cat, Angel, laying in the middle of my scrapbooking table.
6. Linda J Burton&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
My perfect day is one where I can spend time with my two daughters – talking, going to a movie, having a good meal and just spending time together. Then I would take a trip to Michael’s Craft Store and buy EVERYTHING I have ever wanted – paper, stickers, scrapbooks, note paper, anything craft – including a Cricut machine just for the fun of indulging myself.
7. Nancy&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
My perfect day was the day my fiance came home from boot camp, a month before our wedding. I was teaching and my Dad had driven to pick him up. He brought him to the school I was teaching at and he surprised me just the students were leaving for the day. He came down a very crowded hallway with lots of 4th and 5 graders trying to get out the door. It was the perfect ending to my day.
8. Rena Billings&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
A perfect day…would involve a nice leisurely breakfast. It doesnt need to be anything elaborate. Pancakes, sausage and coffee with my favorite person ~ my daughter. Then some time spent near water, watching and listening to the waves maybe a little reading. The perfect way to end the day would be lying in bed with my daughter and watching a movie.
9. Cheryl&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:12 pm
My perfect day would be sipping coffee in bed, staying in pajamas all day and just hanging around the house with my family–playing board games and cards.
10. Terri&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:13 pm
My 17 year old daughter, Sarah, and I on the beach in Long Beach Wasington driving our Miniature horses on the beach. We spent a whole 5 days just the of us plus my little dog Belle and the boys Rocky and Pippin. The weather was perfect not too hot not to cold. Sleeping in until we felt like getting up. Great mother daughter time.
11. Tammy&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:13 pm
Perfect Day – Stuck in a cabin (if I had a cabin to go to) with the snow piling up and wind blowing, fireplace crackling, my two year old and nine year old snuggling next to me on the couch reading books to each other or looking at scrapbooks (if I had them completed) while my husband is in the kitchen brewing up a warm yummy dinner.
Ah Winter – I thought I’d add that for Ardith
Ohio FINALLY got some worthwhile snow and I’m trying to savor it before it melts away.
12. Susanna&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
My perfect day is going to a baseball game. Getting decked out in my team’s colors and the sights, sounds and smells never cease to amaze me, whether I’m notching off a new stadium on my belt or it’s one I’ve been to a few times. I pay attention to every pitch, every swing of the bat, and every flash of leather on the field. I love scremaing my head off until my voice gets raspy. The food is amazing whether it’s a simple hot dog with mustard and ketchup or a mini baseball helmet sundae. Obviously it becomes a little less perfect if your team doesn’t win, but the whole experience is priceless everytime regardless.
13. Kathy L.&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
seems the first one I did never posted so…my perfect day starts with no pain (fibro, back or anything else!) I have coffee on my patio and watch the sunrise. Today I will spend time scraping and having lunch with friends. Sometime between then and dinner I will take nap-I hear my bed calling me. Dinner time will be spent with my children, grandchild and husband. After dinner I will soak in a hot tub and read until I need to just get out and go to bed! Nothing spectacular, just the things I enjoy most and some things I never seem to get too!
14. Patty&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:22 pm
My perfect dat would be getting to sleep late. Then watching my Purdue Boilermakers win the NCAA tournament (in person).
15. Faye Warriner&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:22 pm
My perfect day would be to wake up pain free. That alone would make it perfect. But when you have Lupus and Neuropathy – those days are few and far between. Then to go with my mom and just walk through fun stores. Maybe take a day trip too. Then spend some time with my little sister who has special needs and then finish the day fixing dinner for the 3 of us and having all the seafood we could possilby eat. Then head up to my desk to scrapbook all the days activities. That would be my perfect day.
16. Judy&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:27 pm
My perfect day would be spent with my Dad doing absolutely nothing, just hanging out together. Although he did like to cook, and I could use one more lesson. I lost him nearly 23 years ago on Easter Sunday. He died unexpectedly with no warning in his sleep. I didn’t get to say goodbye, didn’t get to tell him how much he meant to me, and how much I loved him.
If I only had one more day…
17. Nina Withers&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:29 pm
Wow, I really had to sit and think about this one. A perfect day would consist of so many things!
I am currently 5 mo. pregnant with my first and had a really rough 4 mo. prior…so my idea of a perfect day would be…
I would love to be somewhere tropical, Hawaii, the Caribbean whatever with my wonderful husband. The salt in the ocean air flowing in my nose making me feel right at ease. The bright sun, warm as can be shinning down on my lower half of my body underneath an umbrella. Listening to the seagulls fly above and the waves crashing. Just being out with the one I love in such serenity. That to me would be the perfect day!! (:
18. Sue&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:32 pm
The perfect day would be one where all the bills are paid, the sun is shining, late spring or early summer so it’s not too hot. A slight, fresh breeze blowing- a picnic lunch and the family takes our bikes for a spin around the lake with a picnic at the end. No fighting, we could play a little catch or an improptu game of touch football while at the park. Ending with a game of cards or a movie, eating buttery popcorn.
19. Rose&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:41 pm
My perfect day would be having my son in the Marines home for a visit and spending the time with our other son and daughter in law and beautiful baby grandsons at our home at the beach all together.
20. Lynn&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:42 pm
My Perfect Day – one of solitude and renewal, away from the choas of raising two special needs kids, assisting my elderly parents and work. I would read without distraction, watch anything I wanted on TV and nap whenever I wanted to. I would eat out with care of restictions… I would simple be me, not ‘mom’, ‘daughter’ or ‘secretary’. Just me.
21. Karen John&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:43 pm
My perfect day is being with my granddaughter Kirsty, she is my angel and the whole room lights up when she enters.
22. Susan&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:44 pm
My perfect day would be one without any “have to dos”, an extra day to do whatever I want at whatever time I want with whomever I want.
23. Jenn&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:45 pm
My perfect day would be free from all stress, and work related things.. spending the day at the beach with my closest friends and just spending the day laughing and having fun
24. Barbara Flechner&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:46 pm
A perfect day is when the phone doesn’t ring, the dust doesn’t show, the mailman doesn’t bring bills, leftovers are fine with hubby and I can scrap all day long!
25. Vickie&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:48 pm
The mild breeze is blowing. The chickens are scratching and calling softly. The garden beckons and I pick and eat a strawberry, warm from the sun. My grandchildren help me pick a quart of berries and we sit at the picnic table, snacking and talking–about nothing and everything. That, is a perfect day.
26. Mickey&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:48 pm
My perfect day is any day that I can get all of my 5 children in one place. They are all grown and live in 5 different states, so this only happens every 1 or 2 years. I love to just sit back and watch and listen to the conversation and, of course, I take lots of pictures!
27. Leslie&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:50 pm
I had several perfect days last week! My husband and I went on a Disney Cruise with 5 of our 7 grandchildren and their families. It didn’t matter that the weather wasn’t ideal and we weren’t able to swim in any warm clear waters. What did matter is that we were all together enjoying good food, company and some great entertainment.
28. Melissa Torres&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:51 pm
My perfect day would have to take me back to when I could spend a whole day with my mother, who has been gone for 12 almost 13 years. To spend one more day with her and to be able to tell her how wonderful and special she is to me. To give her one more day with her grandkids so that she can tell them what she wanted to tell them before she left this world. She was a great woman and I hold her close in my heart… That would be my perfect day…..
29. Betsey&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:53 pm
My favorite day would be a do-over from 50 years ago. Our first baby lay dying in the hospital, and the closest we could get was to stand across the hall and see him through a very small window. I would go into the room, pick him up and hold him close. I’d tell him how much we loved the six weeks we had him with us, and let him know that his life would be so much better and pain-free from then on. Even after all this ime, it is a painful memeory that I was not able to do this.
30. Ellen&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:55 pm
My perfect day is one where I can scrap the day away catching up on all my unfinished pages and just having a me day.
31. Paula Freeman&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:55 pm
My perfect day is getting to scrapbook and actually get something done without interruptions and not getting sidetracked with other things.
32. Amy&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:56 pm
Waking up to a loving husband and my puppies and being excited going to a job I love, followed by returning home to my non-fighting children to enjoy a pleasant dinner without complaints and savoring a quite evening before getting ready for bed.
33. Lori Boyd&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:57 pm
My perfect day would be to spend an afternoon with my Dad (gone 11 yrs) and my sister (gone 28 yrs), esp. to have them spend that time with my kids, who have seen them only in pictures. Talk about special pictures and awesome scrapbook pages!!!! I could pack alot of special memories for all of us into that day!
34. Phyllis&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 12:57 pm
My favorite day is any day with my 3 grandsons. I live about an 1 1/2 hours away, so when I go to see them I spend all day. We go for an “adventure” walk, because we never know what we will do, except end up at the park for several hours.
35. Jennie Uppencamp&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
My favorite day would have to include my family on a getaway to a warm beach. No electronic devices allowed, just everyone enjoying some much needed time away.
36. Roxanne&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:04 pm
My perfect day is any day that I get to spend time with my 19 year old son. He is my only child and I love him dearly. The times of “date nights” (dinner and a movie) with mom have long since passed and I cherish any time I get to spend with him now. Just to share dinner or an afternoon talk means the world to me. Thanks to Scrapyourtrip.com, my memory book for him is filling up fast with pages that we will be able to share together for years to come.
37. Cait&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:06 pm
My perfect day, is any day I can spend snuggled up on the couch with my husband and furbabies
38. Kae Smith&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:08 pm
My most recent, perfect day was when I spent the day on the couch, reading a wonderful book (Fantasy Fiction genre) and not answering the phone or the door. I didn’t cook. My husband fixed his own meals so I could read.
39. MICHELE KETTLE&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:11 pm
ALL I NEED FOR A PERFECT DAY IS FOR ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO BE HEALTHY AND HAPPY.
40. Diana Laufer&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:12 pm
My perfect day would be to spend the day with my mother and sisters scrapbooking and stamping. Then coming home to a clean house and all the laundry done by my husband and kids. We would sit down to a wonderful meal that my husband cooked. After dinner we would all go for a walk in a nearby forest preserve. Then come home and play a board came together. The evening would be finished off my watching a movie together and enjoying a dessert my kids made.
41. Melissa&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:12 pm
My perfect day is when my family spends time toghter. Even if we are just talking. We can even be in the car and get lost but we still have each other and that is good enoguh for me. Family time is the most priceless thing anyone can ask for!
42. Bonnie&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
My perfect day would be at a scrapbook class with friends. We have a really good time and wish we could do it more often. Then go out for supper with family and have it hav NO calories.
43. Pat McKluskey&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:19 pm
My perfect day.
Up early. Feed my dog. Get my laundry started. Sun shining through my kitchen window. Sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee and a book. Dog sleeping on the floor right next to me. My husband wakes up and we spend the day together wandering around, i.e. shopping, eating out. We get home and the cleaning people had been there for their monthly cleaning. My husband lays on the couch and I share the love seat with my Goldie girl (yellow lab). I always say when this happens that all is right with the world, we are each in our places at Home Sweet Home.
44. Mary&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:19 pm
My perfect day…would be a morning of sleeping in, and then going to work as I work for hospice…but today I would get out of the office and spend some time with the families to help them make the best of their time remaining with their loved one. Then home to a quite dinner with family.
45. PeggyS&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
My perfect day? That’s easy….. it is what I ask for every mother’s day…… a day that all of my children get along with no fighting for an entire day
46. Debora Mammarelli&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:29 pm
This morning was a perfect morning . . . beautiful snow covered the ground (not often seen around here), and my husband and I both got to sleep late this morning! Our 11 year old Beagle jumped in bed with us, and we all napped a little longer all snug in our warm bed! Life is good.
47. Marilea&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:29 pm
My perfect day, after 69 years of many, is spending quality time with my whole family and best friend. I got to do that when we had our 50th anniversary in Oct. of 2008, and it was so special because of that. Every Christmas all the children and grandchildren (and now great-grandchild & another on the way in August) come here for the day and it’s what my idea of a perfect day is. It can get me through a lot of bad days. Going to visit my best friend (of 55 years) and sister is also a perfect day, week, 2 weeks, month. My husband has always kept the kids since 1974 (one reason for the 51 years of marriage – what a saint! We still have a grown Autistic son at home) and I go for 2 weeks or longer and spend quality time with each of them and it means so much! Perfect days! When I think about it, there have been more perfect days than not, and isn’t that what life is all about?
48. Lori&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:30 pm
My perfect day…a cold rainy day, with my husband off work and inside with me and our three young children, playing in the floor and watching cartoons with them while drinking hot chocolate and eating fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies, then later, as they sleep, sitting in the floor, my quilt-in-progress on my lap as my husband and I watch a movie together, eating homemade salsa and chips. It’s the sweet simple stuff that you remember and cherish.
49. Marilea&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:32 pm
Oh, yes, finishing a scrapbook of my family or my trips is a perfect day, too! That goes without saying!
50. pat jordan&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:35 pm
My perfect day is when I get to go down stairs and scrap book all day no one brothering me. I don’t even have to answewr the phone.I love swcrapping when I have to do two books at a time.
51. Janice-NH&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:36 pm
I’ve had few “perfect” days but there have been many practically perfect days – mine was May 6, 2006 National Scrapbooking Day, started off with breakfast where I got to where a crown with a 50 on it for my birthday! Then onto our favorite scrapbook shops as we “hopped” from one to the other with at least one new shop stop. Lunchtime at Antiquiteas Tea Room where an elegant surprise party was held – then continuing on to shop with our annual final stop to watch the Kentucky Derby with a marguerita and appetizers as the sun went down…
52. Nancy&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:42 pm
I’m retired so many of my days are perfect. I try to find joy in every day, whether it be with the people I love most, my husband, my two children and daughter-in-law, or my three granddaughters. Camping in our RV somewhere in the mountains with all of them would be a perfect day. We could hike, take time to smell the flowers, wade or swim, and just spend time together. I’m grateful to God for the opportunities I’ve been given.
53. Kathy&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
My perfect day was the day my husband returned from his last deployment. He left when our son was 2 months old and having the family reunited was amazing. We’re now expecting our second son in a couple of months and I’m enjoying every day we have together before he leaves again.
54. Shelia Woods&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:47 pm
My perfect day would be spend with all 3 of my girls together (no fighting) doing whatever we wanted to do so long as we are together. We would even let my husband come along so long as he did what we wanted to do. A day at the beach or shopping or traveling somewhere we have never been, as long as we are together that’s all that matters. My girls are grown and in college or out on their own so this is a rare treat.
55. Sandra Hallner&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:50 pm
Stepping outside the airport – the heat, the palmtrees, the people – I’m in LA! I bordered the plane, waited 14 looong hours, to travel from my safe little haven ( a small town in Sweden) to get to fabulous LA. Two years earlier I decided to put all my money and effort into fulfilling my dream: travel to LA and study Fashiondesign. So there I was, seeing everything for the first time. I was all alone, depending only on myself – and it was magical. My time in LA, in California, will always be remembered with warmt and love, and I have sworn to myself that I will return some day, when the time is right. But for now, I would relive that day any day!
56. Angie Smith&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:50 pm
My perfect day would be my husband at work and my son at school and all day to scrapbook without interuptions!!!
57. Jennifer&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 1:51 pm
I feel that I have had a lot of perfect days, but at this point in my life a perfect day would involve being somewhere warm and fun with my husband and kids where we can just sleep in a little, get ready for our day leisurely, have lots of fun talking, laughing, and enjoying each other company, and be able to eat meals together without having to make them or clean up afterwards.
58. Eva&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
My perfect day begins by slowly waking up to the sound of waves on the shore and a warm breeze blowing through the windows. A leisurely breakfast with my husband and two children is followed by a bridge walk with many marine life sightings – sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, rays, etc. The sun shiny afternoon would be spent at the beach. The evening would include a nice dinner out as a family and some time for relaxing at the pool/hot tub. With the kids asleep in bed, I would have alone time with my husband.
59. Vero&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
My Perfect Day would start with me waking up my 2 boys to tell them that it snowed all night and to look out their window. They’re excitement for snow is almost greater than their excitement for Christmas and it over joys me to see their faces light up and hear their exited screeches! We would get dressed and play outside almost all day stopping only for hotdogs or pizza. Then we would come in and do our favorite family activities, family wrestling on the bed or chasing each other around the house, silly dancing, and board games. (We would squeeze a quick shower in there) And that night of course our overall favorite, movie night, with hot chocolate and popcorn and big cozy blankets. I know after that they would fall asleep and I would tuck them in their beds and stay up a little for some scrapbooking and another movie and of course cuddle time with my hunny. Sounds exhausting, but we love it. It just doesn’t snow often enough!
60. Molly&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:14 pm
My perfect day is every day! I have recently gone through what Julie has just gone through. I try to live each day to the fullest. I’ve decided that 2010 is the “year of me”. I’m going to do things for me. Scrapbook (a lot!), enjoy my children, family and friends, run in several 1/2 marathons, horseback ride and not sweat the small stuff!
61. Vero&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:23 pm
um after reading some of these I am starting to think I am the only one who enjoys cold weather
oh well, to each his own!
62. Ginger&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:28 pm
My perfect day would be one where I can spend the whole day with my husband talking, visiting sites, shopping, and there would be no computer, tv, or telephone interruptions!
63. Sarah&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:31 pm
My perfect day would be me waking up at my mom’s house in Virginia, and her making breakfast- she makes pancakes and all the fixings, and she loves to cook, so everything is always great! I would spend time doing something really fun with my sisters, my nephews, and my sweetheart of six years, and then he and I would fly home to Florida, where we would meet up with our three dogs. We would have dinner at the pizza place down the road, and then come home and snuggle up while watching a really good movie! Just spending the day surrounded by the people I love being with is the perfect day!
64. Carol&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:34 pm
My perfect day is any day I can spend exploring the shores of Lake Superior, my haven.
65. Kathy Bezold&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:38 pm
My perfect day would be to hear that no one new got cancer, and that those who had it would survive and have a healthy life again. The news would be nothing but good things happening to good people by good people. That there would be music and laughter and only tears of joy for all the world. Then all the bullies of the world would put down their weapons and not raise arms but voices singing we will fight no more. That would be my perfect day.
66. Melanie&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:39 pm
My perfect day(s) have been boating on Lake Powell with my husband, 3 children, and friends. The deep red rock canyons, indian ruins, and Rainbow Bridge are etched in my mind…my screensaver is of Lake Powell, as are posted photographs at my desk. Whether I’m floating, swimming, fishing (or watching the kids fish!), or exploring, I’m in the most beautiful place with the people I love the most! I have completed many scrapbooks with many Lake Powell pics!

My perfect day was when I found this website and fell inlove with all the scrapbooking material that you have to offer!!! The store I loved to scrap at here in Texas shut down due to diagreements between renters and the building manager. I have been so sad about all the places I had scraped and no great material to scrap with until now….I think I just found a little spot in heaven called, My little trip to scrap from heaven” LOL Thank you for all the wonderful products that you continue to sell to customers like me. Have a blessed day!
68. Sherry&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
My perfect day would start out with sleeping as late as I wanted and waking up feeling really rested (but still having enough of the day left to fit in everything else)! From there, the day would include spending time with my daughters, their spouses, and my grandchildren. The weather would be sunny and warm. The activities aren’t as important as just spending time with everyone, but a day at the beach (with a beautiful pool nearby) would be just fine!! Meals would be planned, bought, and prepared by someone else!!! Oh yeah, the clean up would be done by someone else, too!!
69. Kathy&hellip | February 12th, 2010 at 2:56 pm

My perfect day occurred on my 40th birthday! I was over 8 months pregnant with my daughter and my 6 year old son, who was my only child at the time, had a snow day off from school. We spent the entire day with each other, hanging out together and enjoying each other’s company. I remember treasuring that day and thinking that having him home with me from school was the best 40th birthday present I could have received!

Life can definitely be a struggle just to exist, so it’s difficult to live in the moment and enjoy life when things are going poorly. I think the trick is to keep a positive attitude and make time for good memories so they outweigh the bad times.

My perfect day is a condo on Rosemary Beach, FL with 3 dogs and 5 grown children and loving husband – without phones and responsibilities….just sea breeze and family.

On my perfect day I will be living close to the beach in my own house in Kauai that I love. My kids will come to see me often, and I will have lots of friends and lots of scrapbooking! I will also have a quilting group with whom I meet often, and will have lost fifty pounds and will be exercising every day and eating lots of healthy produce. Wow, this is turning into my perfect life!

The more I muse on this, the more I realize how dis-jointed my perfect day really is! Where? It starts in church, singing (with a MUCH better voice than I really have!) all the beloved old hymns of the church. Where? At my dining room table, with my kids, their spouses and my “grands” all about…..but that dining room table is on Sea Goddess, cruising the Mediterranean. My husband wouldn’t have left, and we’d be dancing in the rain once again on a piazza on Sardinia, and Neil Sedaka would once again be playing his “Laughter in the Rain” for the 12 couples who found that to be a delicious time. Somewhere in there would be more time with parents and grandparents, all now long-gone….but how I would love more time to ask just a few more questions….learn just a little more, and at the end of the day, thankful I can kneel in prayer – as a free American – grateful to the generations of brave soldiers who gave us that gift, including 7 from my own family….and then giggly ‘good-nites’ from those wonderful grandchildren.

My perfect day would be all of us at home together, joe home from the army, staying in pajamas, having breakfast, playing games, lounging around, nowhere to be, no schedules to keep, some scrapbooking, dancing around w/ the ipod, snuggling with the kids and hubby and a possible bubble bath thrown in for good measure at the end of the day

A perfect day for me would be filled with my loved ones. My boys — both the little ones and my hubby, would of course make sure I was happy – with lots of hugs, kisses and laughter. They’d listen to my music – with me, they’d cook my dinner and I would eat all the candy I want, unless I had to share!…and of course, the next day, any extra calories would have disappeared, but not the memories! Any time I spend with them is perfect.

My perfect day would start with sleeping in, reading the paper with my favorite latte, going shopping for awhile, getting a massage, then coming home to do some scrapbooking. Then getting dressed up to go out to a nice dinner with my husband & some friends, which of course includes a really decadent dessert! And finally, coming home, watching a good movie & taking a bubble bath!

My perfect day would be spent with my husband and two sons. It doesn’t matter if we are bike riding, camping, going out to dinner, or snuggling. As long as we are together, nothing else matters. They are the love of my life. My children are growing up so fast and thinking about their accomplishments always makes me cry. I am so glad for the memories!

I feel blessed to say I have many perfect days. One that stands out to me often was a quiet afternoon with my first Grandchild Christopher. He was around 7-8 months old and I was sitting at the kitchen table with Christopher sitting on the table facing me, my arms around his waist. I was talking to him getting him to smile, and then I found myself just looking at him and marveling at the sheer wonder of him. He serenely looked back at me and then he did something I will never forget. He smiled at me as he leaned towards me, putting a tiny hand on each side of my face till our foreheads touched. And he just held the moment! I could have swam in those warm chocolate brown eyes forever! It was the most amazing few moments. I finally broke contact as I could feel my eyes begin to water and I did not want to frighten him or make him think he had done anything wrong. This all happened in a matter of perhaps two minutes, but it was so priceless and everlasting to me.

My perfect day would be waking up with my hubby and two cute boys in a tent. My mountain man would light a fire and we would enjoy pancakes and bacon. We would then for for a hike, or maybe find a swimming hole to play in. After lot of fun adventure we would make it back to camp, eat dinner, then laugh and eat smores around the campfire. Oh, and there would be no mosquitos!!

My perfect day needs a little explaining first. I have a belnded family of 23 years. ( A yours and mine.)As you might guess the dynamics of the family had a great deal of stress involved. His would come visit for the summer, and it would be a three ring circus. His always right and mine always wrong, and so on. So, my perfect day would be for all of our (now) adult children, thier mates or spouses and my only grandchild to come visit. To have the house full once again. Everyone getting along, having a stress free and very enjoyable day celebrating being with each other. Eating, drinking, catching up and visiting. That would be one of the most blessed days of my life. I hope it comes true one day.

My perfect day is when I take the time to slow down and remember what makes me happiest. My 3 boys all growing up so quickly. Brock 18 who will graduate this spring and become an adult over night. Heath who is just 13 and discovering the next part of his life and Tristan who will be 6 soon but wants to be 20! Perfect! My marriage to my husband for 22yrs this past Feb 6, 2010. A soldier for the last 22yrs and a father and a great husband. None of these things ever perfect but all of them combined even on my worst day is more than any perfection I could ask for.

My perfect day would be getting on a plane with the love of my life and heading out to Las Vegas to take in the sights and play a few games! We would watch a show and then go out to eat somewhere really exciting….we would have a wonderful desert, also!!! We might play a few more games, and then watch the fountains at the Bellagio. We’d be happy, we’d know in out heart that our families were healthy and safe, and we would just be able to really enjoy every second of the day.

let’s me relax, reminiscence looking at the pictures,

The evening during the Christmas Holidays, grandkids are in pjs and ready for storytime. Myself, Brianna(8), Lucas(6), Ben(2) nestled on the loveseat with our Christmas stories. All the snowman books from Hallmark (my fav.), “Polar Express” (the boys fav.), “The Grinch”, & of course, The Night Before Christmas” (Bri’s fav.). Their moms are nurses & work every other Christmas, so I only get them home TOGETHER every other year. My daughters both liveout of town, one Athens,GA, other Baltimore,MD. They come home to visit thru the year but it is rare the make it at the same time. So I cherish the time with all my grandbabies together. Peace & Love from Pittsburgh,PA

My perfect day is every Sunday that I get to spend with my grandkids who are 3yrs old and 2yrs old. They are the love of my life, just hearing them laugh or run into my arms is the best feeling in the world. Until a year ago they lived in Montana because my son is in the Air Force, but last January they moved to a Base here in Oklahoma so instead of being 24hrs away they are only 2 hrs away for at least a couple more years. We go to church then spend the rest of the day just playing. God has truly blessed me.

No work, no e-mails, no phone calls.

My most recent perfect day was in Barcelona, Spain, with my boyfriend. We slept in later than usual, walked to the store and bought a dozen ice cold, ultra fresh, Clementine oranges to share for breakfast (can’t eat just one). We took the subway to the center of town, then walked the entire length of Las Ramblas, a wide, pedestrian-only street that spans a bit over a mile from the center of town to the port. It is lined with trees and interesting shops and outdoor vendors. The air was crisp and fresh, and strolling around, peeking into the shops and buying a few souvenirs with my boyfriend was just perfect. At night, they had Christmas lights all down the street and it looked like a fairyland.

If we could relive one day over and over until it was perfect, then I would choose the day my twins were born and I first became a mom. My daughter was born healthy and without complications, but my son was stillborn. That was the happiest and also the saddest day of my entire life, so if that one detail were changed, it would be my perfect day.

My favorite day was friday on 02/12/2010. I came home early from work due to the snow. Our whole family suited up for the cold weather and spent most of the afternoon building snowmans and having snowball fights. It was awesome. My 3-year old son had fun with the neighbors children. My husband and him attacked me and held me down in the snow. My son was so upset the next day when all the snow melted.
