I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day. Mine was absolutely wonderful! Several years ago, Tony & I started taking the kids out for “date night” for Valentine’s Day. He always takes Lauren to Roy’s. She gets all dressed up and Daddy treats her like a lady.Every year though, I’ve gotten the short end of the stick, because Logan is so much younger. Last year he picked Sweet Tomatoes and the year before that was go-kart riding at Fun Spot and corn dogs.
But, he is 7 now and we finally had a real “date”. We went to The Plantation Room at the Celebration Hotel. We both got all dressed up and I told him if he was going to be my date, then he had to be a “gentleman”.
He was so cute! He opened my car door, walked beside me, holding my hand instead of walking ahead of me and pulled out my chair for me at the restaurant.
He was so proud of himself and was looking at me with such pure love shining out of his eyes that it took all I had not to cry.
We shared a five-course DELICIOUS meal. As we were choosing what we wanted for each course, we had chose a crab appetizer and she-crab bisque. There was a choice between seafood and steak for the entrée and he said we should pick the steak because “we already have a lot from the ocean”.
After dessert, our server took him back into the kitchen and the chef gave him a long-stemmed red rose to give to me. “Give this to your Mom and tell her Happy Valentine’s Day and I Love You”. He came out from the kitchen beaming ear to ear and presented me with the rose. I bawled.
I was so proud of him. He was the perfect little gentleman. And the perfect Valentine’s Day date.

That is such a sweet story about you and your son on Valentine’s Day. I also love the tradition and your children will remember this for the rest of their lives. I would have cried like a baby too!

OMGoodness!!! I was bawling by the end of your story!! How sweet and precious….those moments are THE reason we scrapbook. I love the idea and I may have to start doing that with my two boys! Thank you for sharing.

A wonderful story and tradition for your family. Can I tell you how much I love the blizzard and snow items? It seems like there is no end to winter this year, and the papers and diecuts are PERFECT! Atta’ girls to the designers!!

I absolutely loved your Valentine’s story. He is an adorable boy and it must have made him feel so grown up and proud to take you out on a date. You must have been so proud! I don’t think you could have found a more handsome dinner date!

Awww, what a lovely story! I have lunch with Son #1 each Thursday while his fiance (just happened on the 13th – and that’s a whole other GREAT Valentine story) is in class working on a degree. Son #2 is in college and I try to see him at least once a month for lunch and some “just us 2″ time. Keep up the good work and you’ll have memories to scrap and Logan will have a great basis for finding the right girl. Other story — I’m getting a daughter-in-law and couldn’t be happier with my son’s choice. She is great, has a 4 year old who we adore and has decided if “E” marries his mommy, he’ll get us as a new grandpa and grandma — he then wondered why I was crying after he told me that — what great Valentine’s weekend we had.

I left ScrapYourTrip.com as an employee on yesterday. I cried for most of the day. That is because I left some of the most wonderful people that I have ever worked with and I have been working a long time! There is such a commitment and dedication at SYT to get it right for the customer. You will never find a company with so many employees synchronized to that one goal. You will never find a better scrapbooking company. I am moving on to other things, but ScarYourTrip.com will always be in my heart.

I’ve never posted anything on the blog before but always enjoy reading your emails. Today’s story about Valentines Day reduced me to tears at my desk. Fortunately, my cubicle walls are high enough to hide behind! Thanks for sharing your life with us!
P.S.- You look fabulous. Keep up the good work.

I love the story about you & Logan! Last night I had dinner with my son and enjoyed every minute. We only went to Steak N Shake, but it was fun & we laughed alot & even had dessert. He’s 20 now so I dont get to spend alot of one on one time with him much anymore.
