Moments.  There are moments in life that define us.  Some of them are really big moments…falling in love…the birth of a child…graduating from school.  These moments we know are big moments when they occur.

But there are also moments that seem little at the time…but turn out to be a big defining moment…we just didn’t know it yet.

But all the moments of our lives…and the memories of those moments…are like boats floating in the water. Some are rowboats, some cruise ships, but most of them will float away off course unless they are anchored.

So how do we "anchor" those memories so they don’t float away into the recesses of our mind?  Scrapbooking, of course!

This Saturday is National Scrapbook Day. Every year at this time I take it as my duty to remind people to "anchor" their memories through scrapbooking.  And every year at this time I also take it as my duty to remind everyone that there are lots of ways to scrapbook.  Not everyone scrapbooks in the same way and however you choose to preserve your memories is what is right for you.  What’s important is that you do it! :-)

Oh, and take pictures. LOTS of pictures. Because you never know which of those little moments ends up being a big moment and you want to make sure you recorded it!

I hope you spend part of your Saturday making some new memories (and anchoring them) or reliving some old ones by scrapbooking them. And whatever your scrapbooking supplies needs are for those memories, we’ve got you covered!

Kids soccer game?  We have supplies for that.  Trip to the beach?  We have supplies for that.  Pizza and movie night?  We have supplies for that too. You won’t find a larger selection of travel and theme- specific scrapbooking supplies anywhere else on the planet.

And in honor of National Scrapbook Day, everything is on sale!  Just use coupon code NSD2010 for 20% off your entire order, including any of our custom products.  (Coupon code is valid through Friday, April 30. Cannot be used on previous orders. Cannot be combined with other offers).

My husband always laughs at me because I take my camera EVERYWHERE. He thinks I am crazy. I especially like to take photos of food !! We were in TGI Fridays the other day and my cheeseburger looked so perfect, just like a magazine. So of course I took a picture of it. Maybe I really am crazy ?!?!? Loveable but crazy !! I think the little moments in life are special just like the huge events like weddings and vacations. I will remember that perfect cheeseburger for eternity because I have it preserved forever !! THAT makes me happy :-)

Julie, I completely agree with your comment that “not everyone scrapbooks in the same way”. The first time I went to a Crop, I almost was completely turned off from scrapbooking. One lady in particular took it upon herself to comment and criticize everyone’s work. I never went again, but fortunately I didn’t give up on scrapping. I told myself it’s my, and my family’s, pictures, life, and memories, and no one is going to tell me how I should or shouldn’t preserve it. I have also discovered that my favorite time to scrap is when I am all alone in the house just enjoying the peace and quiet, no TV or radio. Just time to think and enjoy my family photos.

Thanks Julie! Every moment in life is scrap worthy in some way. I agree that not everyone scraps alike. we enjoy welcoming new comers into our group and each time they ask if this is right we all answer “There is no right or wrong in scrapbooking, everyone has their own style”

I have to say that the greatest joy from scrapbooking for me is having my two boys love to look at their books over and over again. It is also a wonderful way for me to relive those “little moments” that truly are blessings.
