Scrap Your Trip Zig Pen Gift Ends Tonight

"It’s never too soon, nor too late to follow your passion."   This is the tag line for a wonderful new book "Life on Your Terms:  The Support You Need To Follow Your Passion From Inspirational Entrepreneurs" by Shann Vander Leek.

She says "I created Life on Your Terms and the Life on Your Terms Accelerator Series to demystify entrepreneurial freedom by sharing 41 stories of successful entrepreneurs. My hope is that once readers have experienced the real stories in this book, they will feel propelled to begin creating a life on their own terms.

When the reader understands the prolific numbers of people who have made the leap before them, they can take a deep breath, learn from these dynamic creators and begin to create a life of entrepreneurial freedom – Life on Their Terms."   Why am I excited to tell you about this book?  Because I am one of the 41 entrepreneurs…my story is right after Tony Hseih, CEO of Zappos.  I am still in awe…my story is in a book that is about to be published.  :-)

Scrap Your Trip Adds 216 Items + 216 S*A*L*E Items

Imagine – if you will, lots of…

"Ooo’s," – "Ahhh’s"…. "Bea-utiful," "Adorable," – "I have to have that’s!"…. women standing (ten deep), buzzing with excitement, (or more like hovering) :-) waiting, like the adoring fans they are, for Tim Holtz to speak and demo his latest and coolest products – ladies screaming – hoping to be the next lucky one to win a Cricut and flashes going off in every direction to bring back images of projects created by some of the most talented designers there are…

…AND, that my friends, is a little of what it’s like to be at the Summer CHA Show.

The theme of this show seems to be all about bling, banners, mist, stamps and glitter paper.

The team is loving the make & takes, finding collections that will look great in ALL of our scrapbooks and demo’ing the latest and greatest scrapbooking tools…..UMMMMM….I mean, working HARD! :-)

Last night was all about pouring through catalogs to make sure that we get what you asked us for first.

For those of you who keep asking us for stamps – we’re on it!  Glitter mist – check. Holidays and travel products – check. Beautiful papers and flowers to match – check…and, of course, crystals – we haven’t seen a layout, flower or project yet that that can’t be improved upon by adding a crystal. :-)

**Quick CHA Math Fact:  Tim Holtz + distressing, inks & vintage = ROCK STAR

Does this math add up for you?  Do you want us to carry his products?  Post your answers/comments on the blog so that we can see what you think while we’re at the show!

Today – back for Day 2!

This week we debut a new vendor for us…Three Bugs in a Rug…one word…..SUPERCUTE!  This week we have their “Animal Stackers”, “A Trip to Paris”, “The Great Outdoors”, and “Tool Time” collections.  Each one of these lines are fun, have great color palettes and the artwork in the collections are adorable.  The designers put the artwork together in such a creative way that I’m even sitting here trying to figure out what pictures I already have so that I can use the “Gone Fishin’” (TBR-TGO-730) paper! I’ve got ideas for the others but I just love this paper!  ….so much so that maybe I’ll take Logan fishing myself.  :-)

I know many of you have been asking us for the next three lines and we finally got them in, “Beach Days”, “Monkey Business”, and “Sand & Sea” by Creative Imaginations.   The wave, sand castle and life preserver die cut papers are whimsical and great additions to your summer fun layouts.  For a soft, girly look, Fancy Pants’ “Wishful Thinking” collection is perfect!  We love the pinks and turquoises, the banner paper (FP-072) and the way the papers coordinate in such a feminine way.        Finally, "Paper Girl" by The Girls’ Paperie, is another collection that we have this week.  The double sided papers of this collection give your layouts endless possibilities.  What we are particularly crazy about in this collection is the “Sticker Market” – there are letters, numbers, word clouds, borders – again, endless possibilities (not only for a layout with this paper collection but for any that you may be working on).

The SYT Designers have been hard at work, as always.  Our paper collections this week are three that we have received so many requests for: Alaska, Tea Party and Pool Time.  We’ve also designed die cuts and ordered Thickers (Alphabet stickers) to coordinate with the collections.  We can’t wait to hear from you what you think!

The new die cuts this week are: Beach, Summer, Family, Friends, Birthday, Kids, Great Outdoors, Camping, Disney, Track, Dancing, Cheerleading, Music, Sailing, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Retirement. We also have new custom items for you to choose from:  Custom 10 Things Pocket Laser Die Cut, (1)Tea Party Custom 12 x 12 Paper, (1)Alaska Custom 12 x 12 Paper.   Click here to see all the new items:  www.scrapyourtrip.com/7282010.html    We also have 216 overstock items on sale at 25% off.  Click here to see:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/7282010sale.html       As any scrapbooker KNOWS, journaling is one of the most important parts of any layout.  Not only the words but your actual handwriting can be such a pivotal part of telling a story.  This week we are sending you a free Zig pen with any order of $59 or more between now and July 30th.  Our Scrapbookers at SYT use these pens and love them, they are acid free and photo safe!  (And yes, you can still use coupon code “FREESHIPPING59” with this offer.)

Scrap Your Trip Clearance S*A*L*E – 25% Off Over 4000 Items

Have you ever noticed that you can hear a song from the past and it can instantly take you back to that time?

I recently went to see Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon in concert at Universal Studios (one of the many reasons I like living in Orlando).  Just listening to those songs instantly put me back in grade school, listening to my albums in my room.

I can hear a song and instantly remember where I was when I heard it or who I was with. Every time I hear "American Pie" I think "That was my first 45!"  And I think about my mom every time I hear "Walking on Sunshine."

Does music do that for you too?  Any particular songs that always make you think of a time or a place?  Let us know on the blog!   Bring on the clearance scrapbooking supplies!   Next week is the Craft and Hobby Association tradeshow in Chicago and lots of cool new products are going to be released.  We need to make lots of room, so we’ve added over 4000 items to our clearance section.  Quantities are limited and when they are gone, they are gone!

Scrap Your Trip Clearance S*A*L*E – 25% Off 4000+ Items

Apparently, I am 43 years old.  I don’t feel 43.  I don’t act 43.  And I certainly don’t look 43.  But apparently, parts of me are starting to act 43. Like my eyes.

A few months ago, my eyes were a mess from crying all the time.  I stopped wearing my contacts because I couldn’t focus when I was wearing them.  Fortunately, I didn’t have a very strong prescription, so I was mostly okay driving without them.

When my eyes were such a mess a few months ago, they told me the shape of my eyeball had changed and that’s why I couldn’t see with my contacts anymore.  But yesterday when I went back, they told me it was permanent because "this is what happens after 40."

So, the good news is that I don’t even need to wear contacts anymore!

Over the past couple of months, my eyes have gotten a lot stronger and I really only need glasses to drive at night (and I don’t really NEED them, it just helps a little bit.)

My eyesight changed drastically…practically overnight.  Is it because I am 43?  Who knows.  So far, I have pretty much refused to participate in this "getting older" thing.  Whatever the case, I am just thrilled that I don’t have to wear contacts anymore!
Now on to scrapbooking!   Next week is the Craft and Hobby Association tradeshow in Chicago and lots of cool new products are going to be released.  We need to make lots of room, so we’ve added over 4000 items to our clearance section.  Quantities are limited and when they are gone, they are gone!

Scrap Your Trip Adds 210 Items + 210 S*A*L*E Items

I always find it fascinating how differently people look at things.  As Rachel said in her recent blog comment, “It’s always interesting to read the responses and see the many sides that we all give our opinions from.”

Last Friday I wrote about how my boyfriend scoots next to me when one of the kids wants to sit with us.  I received lots of positive comments and lots of negative ones.  And so, in response to the negative ones, I want to clarify things a bit.

It wasn’t my kids who I was talking about wanting to sit with us – it was his.  When he’s around, my kids barely remember I exist.  One night when just the four of us went to dinner, the three of them sat on one side of the booth and I sat by myself on the other.  Not exactly what I had in mind  :-)

And that was the whole point I was trying to make.  One of the reasons both of us chose to get divorced was because we wanted our kids to grow up seeing a healthy, affectionate, loving relationship.  I see my kids watching us when we are holding hands and hugging and kissing (Logan always says “EWWWW!).  :-)

One time when Lauren asked me why I got divorced, I explained to her that when she got older, her relationships and her marriage were going to model mine, since that was what she knew.  And I wanted her to have more than just a friendship with her partner.  I had a great friendship with her Dad, but I wanted more than that for me and for her.

So this time, I am trying to model something different.  Love.  Affection.  Passion.

My children mean the world to me.  They have been the source of my biggest joy and my biggest heartache.  I am doing everything I can to raise them so that they feel secure and loved and not pass on my “stuff” to them.  And when I am done raising them, if they have a successful loving and affectionate relationship of their own, then I have done my job.

Now, on to scrapbooking supplies!

O-KAY, I’ve been going back and forth with my team on this first collection….and they won.  :-)   This week we are doing something that we’ve never done before – introducing a holiday line with everyone else (aka months ahead) instead of during the actual holiday timeframe.    We are thrilled to introduce the Graphic45 Halloween collection, “Hallowe’en in Wonderland.”  This collection is for the Alice in Wonderland lover and for the crafter who is already thinking “Halloween” – it takes that old familiar story, adds a vintage feel and combines it with just the right amount of the dark side to create a perfect Halloween line.  Graphic45 does an awesome job of creating artwork in their paper that can also be used as cut-outs and embellishments.  (Please let me know what you think about us adding holiday collections as our vendors create and release them.)

Let’s leave Halloween and get back to where I’m comfortable this time of year – the beach.  This week our SYT “Sandsational” collection will take you from playing on the beach to lying on your towel to diving underwater – and our custom paper is a great addition to any layout to give your memories that little “extra” that not everyone has.

As we all prepare to go to the summer CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) show, Reminisce has been hard at work creating five mini-collections.  They run the gamete from “Bubbly,” to “Dinorama,” to “Jungle Kitties,” to “Retrobot,” to “What’s in my Neighborhood” – be sure to take a look at these, there’s something here for everyone.    Speaking of “something for everyone,” Jenan has some of the most beautiful and exotic hand painted images that you will ever see.  The artwork was hand painted on canvas, photographed and then turned into a scrapbook paper so that the paper actually has the appearance of canvas.  We also have Making Memories’ “Design Shop dimensional stickers, the images of these stickers really don’t do them justice – they are glittered, dimensional, some have felt, others have fabric but all of them will be a perfect touch to your layout.

Not to be outdone, Moxxie has created a “Tee Ball” collection for all of the little guys/girls that are swinging for the fences.  This line is full of bright, fun colors that reminds you of watching your little one trying to hit the ball off of a stick (that doesn’t move) and when they get a piece of it…..the biggest smile E-V-E-R comes over their face.  Moxxie’s “Tee Ball” is just what you need to capture moments just like that one.

This week our die cuts include: Beach, Surfing, Cruise, Southwest, Wedding, Kids, Grandparents, Drinks, Poland, Netherlands, Italy, Australia, World War II, South Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Hawaii.

We also have new custom items for you to choose from – these custom items are what can really make a scrapbook special.  Be sure to check out all of our custom die cuts and custom papers.  This week we have:  A Custom European Vacation of a Lifetime Laser Die Cut, Sandsational: Custom 12 x 12 Paper and Custom School 3 Line 12 x 12 Paper.

Click here to see all the new items:  www.scrapyourtrip.com/7142010.html    We also have 250 overstock items on sale at 25% off.  Click here to see:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/7142010sale.html       Find out what all the excitement is about!  This week with every order of $59 or more between now and July 16th, we are sending you a free Prima e. line Pearl and Crystal pack.  The combination of colors and sizes of pearls AND crystals make these packs perfect for adding sparkle and glamour to your flowers and/or layouts.  (And yes, you can still use coupon code "FREESHIPPING" with this offer.)

Scrap Your Trip Free Stamp Offer Ends Tonight

Now that I am in a new relationship, I am amazed at all the things I am learning about myself and all the things that are so obvious to me that I did wrong in my marriage.

Something that my boyfriend does really was an "a-ha" moment for me.  Every time one of the kids wants to sit next to us, he scoots next to me and puts the kid on the outside. That never happened in my marriage.  We would always put the kids between us.  I guess that was pretty telling, huh?

I know I made the classic mistake of putting my relationship on the back burner when I became a mom.  Men are our whole world until we have kids and then we basically leave them to fend for themselves while we are raising our kids.

I know this was a big issue for me the last go ’round. I am doing all I can not to make the same mistakes this time. I may make all new ones, but at least I am trying to learn from before! :-)

I am sure many of you have been through this before.  Any advice you have for me would be greatly appreciated!  Please let me know on the blog.  Thanks!   We are in the process of doing a system-wide upgrade to our order management system.  We are still processing and shipping orders during the upgrade, but the shipping confirmation emails are a little "wonky".  Just wanted to let you know!
Today is the last day to get a free stamp (including an exclusive SYT designed idea sheet on how to use the stamp for a card and layout).  Nothing special to do – we will include it in your order of $59 or more.   New products this week include:  - Prima e. line Pearls and Crystals and e. line Flowers  - BasicGrey “Oliver” and “Olivia.”  - SYT “Ahoy Matey” and "DIY"  - Echo Park   - FUN+Sunshine+Playful = A Walk in the Park”  - Moxxie “Keep it Cool” and “Off to the Parks.”

Scrap Your Trip Adds 250 Items + 250 S*A*L*E Items

My two kids plus his two kids does not equal four kids. It feels like at least eight!!

We are outnumbered, plain and simple.

Lauren has been a HUGE help. The little girls just adore her and she is really enjoying all the attention.

She made breakfast for all the kids for the first two mornings. The first morning she was very proud of herself, the second morning she was complaining about how much work it was and yesterday morning, she knocked on the bedroom door, opened it, stuck her head in and said "I am not making breakfast this morning!" and closed the door. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted :-)

And while Logan thought it was pretty cool to be a big kid for the first day or so, he is ready to reclaim his place as Mommy’s baby. First he wanted to ride in the stroller we got for the little girls and today he kept asking me to carry him around Magic Kingdom. Poor little guy!  He’s not used to sharing his Mommy like this. I explained to him that there were five other people who wanted some of my attention, but that I would try to make sure he felt loved.

And while there are parts of this "staycation" that have been lots of fun so far, I think I am gonna need a vacation after this vacation is over!  My house looks like a tornado hit – toys and towels everywhere!  And I had no idea the amount of food that six people go through. We are on our third box of Lucky Charms!

Overall, we are having a blast and while there have been a few bumps (and several bruises), I would say it’s been a success!

Ok, let’s talk NEW products!  I am SO excited this week – we have some really GREAT stuff!  Hmmm….where do I begin?

Let’s start with PRIMA!  My girls LOOOOOOVE Prima!  (and, Yes, “Love” is now spelled with 6 “O’s”)  This week we have the e. line Pearls and Crystals and e. line Flowers.  e. line is Prima’s line that retails for $1.55 – this is the first of many reasons why we LOOOOOOVE Prima!  Another is the fact that these Pearls and Crystals are different colors, different sizes and have BOTH pearls and crystals in the same package – I mean really, what more could you want???  They are the perfect accent to any, and I do mean ANY layout!  The e. line Flowers were so popular the first time that we got the rest of what Prima had in stock – don’t worry, they assured us that they are replenishing their stock and have designed new ones for the upcoming CHA show!  Tiffany also talked me into the white flowers (PR-300265).  She listed a million (maybe a slight exaggeration) different things that you can do with them…you can ink them, stamp them, glimmer mist them, chalk them, layer them, glitter them, use them for layouts, cards, projects…whew!  Her list kept going on and on but if you have any great ideas, please post them to the blog so everyone can learn!  Prima also came out with these really fabulous “Say it in Pearls” embellishments.  They are meant to be used “as is,” broken apart in pieces, or used in the center of flowers AND they ARE beautiful!

We have been lucky to get a sneak peek at Prima’s new collections, flowers, pearls and crystals coming out in August and we think you are going to LOOOOOOVE them, just like we do!

We also have the new BasicGrey collections, “Oliver” and “Olivia.”  For your little guys, “Oliver” is full of life and mischief while “Olivia” is a sweet mix of pinks and greens, hearts and flowers – these collections are perfect for capturing the child in your life or versatile enough to use for other photos that will coordinate with these color schemes as well.

Arrrrghhh, SYT has designed “Ahoy Matey” for the little pirates in your life.  Whether you need to create a layout from a past Halloween, gone on a cruise, been to a party or gone on a theme park adventure – this collection (with it’s custom paper design) will be “Arrrrggghhhu-mentably” the buried treasure that you are looking for!

For all of you Do-It-Yourselfers out there, SYT designed “DIY.”  If you are building or remodeling then these papers are great for you!  The custom layout allows you to customize the date and the toolbox, has places to add three pictures and a journaling block to tell the story of your DIY project.

“FUN+Sunshine+Playful = A Walk in the Park” – Echo Park’s new collection.  Besides all of the colorful papers and stickers, they have an Alphabet Sticker sheet (EP-WP2015) that is designed to take the square letters/numbers and place them on the flags to create adorable customized banners just for your layout – how cool is that?  For all of you theme park goers and water enthusiast, Moxxie has designed “Keep it Cool” and “Off to the Parks.”

Our Die Cuts this week include: Beach, Summer, Camping, Hunting, Cowboy, Kids, Moving, Ireland,Holland, Jamaica, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Antigua, New York,Michigan, Oregon, Volleyball, Track & Field, Music, and Snorkeling.  Our new SYT custom items for you to choose from are:  Custom Tropical Vacation of a Lifetime Die Cut, Custom DIY 12 x 12 Paper and Custom Ahoy Matey 12 x 12 Paper.

Click here to see all the new items:  www.scrapyourtrip.com/7072010.html    We also have 250 overstock items on sale at 25% off.  Click here to see:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/7072010sale.html       With every order of $59 or more we are sending you a free stamp.  But even more exciting than that – Tiffany is going to design an idea sheet that includes one card and a single layout using this stamp and it will come to you in your order!
And remember, if you can’t find what you’re looking for, we can always make a custom title or paper just for you!  Click here to see all our custom options:  www.scrapyourtrip.com/custom.html   See you on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/ScrapYourTrip

Scrap Your Trip Free Thank You Gift Giveaway Ends Tonight

Fourth of July weekend…a time of fun, fireworks and freedom.   We are going to a party at a friend’s in Tampa.  He has a waterslide big enough for all the adults and two pallets of fireworks.  KABOOM!   Every year at this time, whenever I think about 4th of July…Independence Day…it makes me think about the men and women of our armed forces that help make our freedom possible.   And so this year, for the third year in a row, we will be donating $1 per order over the holiday weekend to Operation Gratitude.  Their "mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member’s face and to express to our Armed Forces the appreciation and support of the American people."  They send care packages that are filled with letters and donated goodies valued at $100.  Last year we were able to sponsor 136 care packages.  I’m hoping we can get to 150 this year.  Thanks for helping us support our troops!   My friend "P" says thanks to everyone on all the wonderful comments on her party supplies website.  She is offering 10% off to all Scrap Your Trip customers.  Just enter coupon code ScrapParty.  Click here to see her website:  http://www.makeitmineparties.com.

Today is the last day to get a free Thank You gift with your order of $59 or more.  I truly appreciate your business and this is just a little way for me to show you. :-)
