Apparently, I am 43 years old. I don’t feel 43. I don’t act 43. And I certainly don’t look 43. But apparently, parts of me are starting to act 43. Like my eyes.A few months ago, my eyes were a mess from crying all the time. I stopped wearing my contacts because I couldn’t focus when I was wearing them. Fortunately, I didn’t have a very strong prescription, so I was mostly okay driving without them.
When my eyes were such a mess a few months ago, they told me the shape of my eyeball had changed and that’s why I couldn’t see with my contacts anymore. But yesterday when I went back, they told me it was permanent because "this is what happens after 40."
So, the good news is that I don’t even need to wear contacts anymore!
Over the past couple of months, my eyes have gotten a lot stronger and I really only need glasses to drive at night (and I don’t really NEED them, it just helps a little bit.)
My eyesight changed drastically…practically overnight. Is it because I am 43? Who knows. So far, I have pretty much refused to participate in this "getting older" thing. Whatever the case, I am just thrilled that I don’t have to wear contacts anymore!

If you’re planning to attend CHA in Chicago and you make a Portillo’s stop, they now have a chocolate cake shake. It’s their signature chocolate cake mixed into a milkshake. I wasn’t a big fan personally because I don’t like ‘wet cake,’ but some people really like it.

Julie – The same thing happened to me when I was about 42! I thought I was getting more deposits on my contacts because I was “getting older” because they were so blurry. But then I found out about my sight changing – so no more contacts! I also started wearing glasses at night to drive, it just made things sharper. And just last year, when I turned 46, I decided to start using OTC readers to help me read – just another “fun” part of aging, I guess… But it’s ok, because I buy the really funky, fun readers, sometimes they sell them at craft shows, or I’ve painted some myself… :0)
