Scrap Your Trip Clearance S*A*L*E – 25% Off Over 4000 Items

Entry Filed under: New Items Added

Have you ever noticed that you can hear a song from the past and it can instantly take you back to that time?

I recently went to see Pat Benatar and REO Speedwagon in concert at Universal Studios (one of the many reasons I like living in Orlando).  Just listening to those songs instantly put me back in grade school, listening to my albums in my room.

I can hear a song and instantly remember where I was when I heard it or who I was with. Every time I hear "American Pie" I think "That was my first 45!"  And I think about my mom every time I hear "Walking on Sunshine."

Does music do that for you too?  Any particular songs that always make you think of a time or a place?  Let us know on the blog!   Bring on the clearance scrapbooking supplies!   Next week is the Craft and Hobby Association tradeshow in Chicago and lots of cool new products are going to be released.  We need to make lots of room, so we’ve added over 4000 items to our clearance section.  Quantities are limited and when they are gone, they are gone!

ACDC is one of those bands that when i hear their songs it reminds me of the time when you turned the volume up opened the windows and sang along and did air guitar….but on the other end of the spectrum Jim Croche first album was music we played when i was younger when camping to calm down after a long day. As for your trip to our great windy city….please tell me you still will find a portillos and get some chocolate cake beofre you leave.

The song “If You Leave” by “OMD” always reminds me of my old boss.
I worked thru a youth bureau program for a guy doing odd jobs at his business and then his family’s estate. I really enjoyed working there. The place was beautiful. It would always seem like that song would come on the radio as I was driving out to his place.

Have seen them at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga, NY, and New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, this summer! This will be show # 3. The song Sugar Shack puts me in a big old red car, my girlfriends car with fins, on our way to summer school in the summer of ’63 between our sophomore and junior years of high school. We just had our 45th reunion in Las Vegas and that was one of the memories we shared!!

thanks for your great website and collection of travel related scrapbook stuff. One thing I just noticed, most of the stuff you have on clearance is NOT travel related? Just an observation.

I, too have lots of songs that “bring me back”. Its My Turn when I was entering my 30′s and still living at home, This Kiss, when I met my husband and boy could he kiss (they still give me tingles!)

Everytime I hear American Pie I think of driving to Chicago in my boyfriends blue volkwagon. (1971)

Whenever I hear “He Ain’t Heavy (He’s My Brother)” by Cher, I see myself, in my dorm room in Boston, sitting at my desk studying.

Most songs will bring me to a general period in my life, but there are three that bring me to one specific day… I’m Too Sexy – Right Said Fred, My Lovin’ – EnVogue, and (my favorite) Life is a Highway – Tom Cochran. The place? It’s the bus on our 8th grade end-of-year trip to Great America! Those were on the mix tape of songs a classmate brought along on his boombox, and we listened to it all the way down & back. ;) Good times!

Just want to share a scrapbook idea. For my granddaughter’s wedding I asked family and friends for written marriage advice. Some were a paragraph some were just a sentence or two. Using and 8 x 8 album I put the persons photo with their advice on each page. By using lighter colored paper in some cases I printed the advice right on the paper. For a lot of family I used paper that had “mother” “aunt” “cousins” etc. alreay on it. The couple loved it and all the guests took turns reading it. It was the most looked at gift.

I do so enjoy Julie sharing her life with us. Maybe someday went she decides to take the marriage plunge again, all us customers can do a page and send it to her as our gift and thanks for having such a great website and customer service.
