Scrap Your Trip Adds 216 Items + 216 S*A*L*E Items

Imagine – if you will, lots of…

"Ooo’s," – "Ahhh’s"…. "Bea-utiful," "Adorable," – "I have to have that’s!"…. women standing (ten deep), buzzing with excitement, (or more like hovering) :-) waiting, like the adoring fans they are, for Tim Holtz to speak and demo his latest and coolest products – ladies screaming – hoping to be the next lucky one to win a Cricut and flashes going off in every direction to bring back images of projects created by some of the most talented designers there are…

…AND, that my friends, is a little of what it’s like to be at the Summer CHA Show.

The theme of this show seems to be all about bling, banners, mist, stamps and glitter paper.

The team is loving the make & takes, finding collections that will look great in ALL of our scrapbooks and demo’ing the latest and greatest scrapbooking tools…..UMMMMM….I mean, working HARD! :-)

Last night was all about pouring through catalogs to make sure that we get what you asked us for first.

For those of you who keep asking us for stamps – we’re on it!  Glitter mist – check. Holidays and travel products – check. Beautiful papers and flowers to match – check…and, of course, crystals – we haven’t seen a layout, flower or project yet that that can’t be improved upon by adding a crystal. :-)

**Quick CHA Math Fact:  Tim Holtz + distressing, inks & vintage = ROCK STAR

Does this math add up for you?  Do you want us to carry his products?  Post your answers/comments on the blog so that we can see what you think while we’re at the show!

Today – back for Day 2!

This week we debut a new vendor for us…Three Bugs in a Rug…one word…..SUPERCUTE!  This week we have their “Animal Stackers”, “A Trip to Paris”, “The Great Outdoors”, and “Tool Time” collections.  Each one of these lines are fun, have great color palettes and the artwork in the collections are adorable.  The designers put the artwork together in such a creative way that I’m even sitting here trying to figure out what pictures I already have so that I can use the “Gone Fishin’” (TBR-TGO-730) paper! I’ve got ideas for the others but I just love this paper!  ….so much so that maybe I’ll take Logan fishing myself.  :-)

I know many of you have been asking us for the next three lines and we finally got them in, “Beach Days”, “Monkey Business”, and “Sand & Sea” by Creative Imaginations.   The wave, sand castle and life preserver die cut papers are whimsical and great additions to your summer fun layouts.  For a soft, girly look, Fancy Pants’ “Wishful Thinking” collection is perfect!  We love the pinks and turquoises, the banner paper (FP-072) and the way the papers coordinate in such a feminine way.        Finally, "Paper Girl" by The Girls’ Paperie, is another collection that we have this week.  The double sided papers of this collection give your layouts endless possibilities.  What we are particularly crazy about in this collection is the “Sticker Market” – there are letters, numbers, word clouds, borders – again, endless possibilities (not only for a layout with this paper collection but for any that you may be working on).

The SYT Designers have been hard at work, as always.  Our paper collections this week are three that we have received so many requests for: Alaska, Tea Party and Pool Time.  We’ve also designed die cuts and ordered Thickers (Alphabet stickers) to coordinate with the collections.  We can’t wait to hear from you what you think!

The new die cuts this week are: Beach, Summer, Family, Friends, Birthday, Kids, Great Outdoors, Camping, Disney, Track, Dancing, Cheerleading, Music, Sailing, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, and Retirement. We also have new custom items for you to choose from:  Custom 10 Things Pocket Laser Die Cut, (1)Tea Party Custom 12 x 12 Paper, (1)Alaska Custom 12 x 12 Paper.   Click here to see all the new items:  www.scrapyourtrip.com/7282010.html    We also have 216 overstock items on sale at 25% off.  Click here to see:  http://www.scrapyourtrip.com/7282010sale.html       As any scrapbooker KNOWS, journaling is one of the most important parts of any layout.  Not only the words but your actual handwriting can be such a pivotal part of telling a story.  This week we are sending you a free Zig pen with any order of $59 or more between now and July 30th.  Our Scrapbookers at SYT use these pens and love them, they are acid free and photo safe!  (And yes, you can still use coupon code “FREESHIPPING59” with this offer.)

And remember, if you can’t find what you’re looking for, we can always make a custom title or paper just for you!  Click here to see all our custom options:  www.scrapyourtrip.com/custom.html   See you on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/ScrapYourTrip

Really like the new sports/grass papers! One suggestion…on the lacrosse grass paper you have the image of a boy’s lacrosse stick. Any chance you could also do one with a girl’s lacrosse stick?

The sticks are different and those that play can immediately spot the difference!! My daughter (who plays) brought this to my attention on one of the other layouts I did for her! (She also noticed it on a couple of TV programs where a male character who supposedly plays lacrosse had a girl’s stick hanging on the wall!! Sloppy work by the props department/set dressers there!)

I know it’s hard enough to find lacrosse scrapbooking items so I’m grateful for those that I do find on your site and was really happy when you added the customizable lacrosse jersey after I emailed you previously! Hope you can find an image of a girl’s stick to work with on your custom papers! I can always send a picture of my daughter’s stick!! ;)

I really don’t like the Tim Holz – so I don’t care if you order them. Personally, I am always looking for more religious papers – alot of my activities are through church and took trip to Middle East last year.

I bet I’m probably one of only a handful but I DON’T care for any of Tim Holtz items. Never have bought any and don’t plan on it. Now, for sure, he IS a cutie but as for his products, nah.

Sorry, I just don’t see what the fuss is all about.

    Yes, carry Tim Holtz everything.

I used to not like Tim Holtz stuff b/c I wasn’t into the distressed thing. It seemed like everything had to be distressed. But then I tried his inks–just love them. I use them all the time and I’m not distressing everything. In fact I am a big fan of most of the ranger products and they all work well with his inks. His scissors are the best I’ve ever used and my cutterbees have been relegated to the junk scrapbook drawer. I love his ruler and his tiny stapler is great. There are so many ways to use his products–you just can’t go wrong.

For the longest I thought Tim’s products were way to labor intensive and expensive. Recently I was reading his how to book and discovered the distressing thing is fast & easy. I will buy his products if you carry them. I love that his stuff a bit edgy and not cutesy.
I am also a Cricut hold out. I just cannot imagine spending that kind of money for a machine THEN spending money on each different design. Space is an issue for me too. I don’t have the luxury of a separate room or corner. Most of my supplies are tucked away here or there. Please, tell me (in the nicest way possible), if I have missed the boat.

Renee – I do love my cricuit – and can get the cartridges cheap on sale if you keep your eye peeled. What I especially like is the opportunity to change the size and paper and get a different look each time.
Do I think it is necessary? No, but I sure do enjoy it.

  • 11. beth&hellip  |  July 29th, 2010 at 12:03 am

Renee–I’m with you on the buying the cartridges thing! I do have several carts but I primarily use my cricut with a software program on my computer to cut titles. You can use any true type font on your computer, weld, shadow etc. There are two different programs, Sure Cuts A Lot and Make the Cut. I have both and am currently using Make the Cut way more as I find I can do more things with it.

I can’t imagine not using the cricut to cut titles with and I hardly ever use alpha stickers any more. The only limit to what you can do is your own imagination as there are so many free fonts online (as well as tons you can purchase of course!) so you aren’t limited to what types or colors of alpha stickers you can find…you can use the papers you have that match your layout and find any font to match the mood of your layout! Can’t say enough good things about it!

    Hi Julie,
Please carry Tim Holtz’s stuff. I love his alcohol inks, which I have learned to make gorgeous ornaments with. Also I am looking for anything Wales or Aruba. Thanks!

Do we want you to carry Tim Holtz items … mmmm, let me see, YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! His product line is almost as hot as he is, and that’s saying something! ;-)

  • 14. Renee&hellip  |  August 6th, 2010 at 12:24 am

Beth- Thank you, I am going to check on Make the cut and start asking around about the different types of Cricuts on the market.
Thanks to you too April for your response, I suppose there would be some basic pieces that I would make repeatedly.
