“Nothing new can come into your life until you are grateful for what you already have.”I heard a very successful man talk recently about his “discipline of gratitude.” Every morning, he grabs a cup of coffee and a pad of paper and sits on his front porch and writes down what he is grateful for that day.
He said he was talking about this with one of his friends (who is also very successful) and his friend said, “So often, I look around at my life and think ‘How did this even happen to me? I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about this and the only thing I’ve done any differently is to consistently write down everything I am grateful for.’”
I’d like to think I’m a pretty grateful person, but I don’t do a good job of expressing it consistently. When I was married, we all used to go around the dinner table every night and each tell the best part of our day and what we were grateful for that day. Logan was always grateful for electricity.
So, I am making a public declaration that I am going to express my gratitude daily. And there is always, always, ALWAYS something to be grateful for. Just like the gentlemen above, I often look around at my life and marvel at all of the wonderful people and things that are part of it.
Life is amazing and it just keeps getting better.
Now, on to scrapbooking supplies! Once again we’ve found a new vendor with adorable new lines….SYT introduces TaDa Creative Studios. We just know that you are going to love their collections! Their “A Little R & R” is perfect for your outdoor explorations, if you’ve been to the farm or petting zoo lately then “EIEIO” is just what you need, and for all of those sport fanatics in your life “Jock Jams” was meant for you! The colors in Kaiser Kraft’s "Jungle Bug" collection are bright and fun – I’m not a bug lover but these bugs are C-U-T-E (*smile*). If you want a different look to your birthday layouts then you need to check out “Birthday Bash” by Imaginisce. The red, the aqua and the brown combo combined with papers that can be cut out and pop dotted are ideal for switching things up a bit! Creative Imaginations has taken to “switching things up a bit” themselves by adding a new artist to their design team, IOD with the “Loolah” collection. Although this collection has a very creative and artsy look to it, CI did all of the work for us – it’s simple to put together and layer to achieve a look that will appear as if it took days to create – be sure to check out the layouts in the “shop by layout” section or in the right hand column on our home page for inspiration. We are so excited about the Karen Foster new “State Plates.” They each have the state shape along with the nickname of the state on the plate.
One of the most popular new vendors at the CHA show was Echo Park. If you haven’t given them a try then you really should – you’re missing out. Their collections are really cute and can be used for just about anything. This week we have their “Life is Good” collection and we can’t wait to hear what you think about it.
Our SYT “In Memory” collection is understated and elegant. The colors convey a sense of peace and will allow your memories of a loved one to shine through. To make your layouts even more special, add your sentiments to the custom paper.
Our SYT designers never cease to amaze me…their talent knows NO end! Die cuts this week include – Summer, Kids, Faith, Camping, Casino, Food, Dog, Construction, Cheerleading, Jamaica, England, France, Ireland, Korea, USA, Chicago, and Virginia. We also have new custom items for you to choose from: Custom Graduate Here Laser Die Cut, Custom Travel Girl Laser Die Cut, Custom Cheerleading Trophy Metallic Laser Die Cut.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that we have started to add thickers to various collections. I know that there are a few of you out there asking, “what’s a thicker?” Well, I’m glad you asked!

Thickers are great! They add an extra dimension to your scrapbook page….almost like 3-D! They are not for EVERY layout, but they are nice when you are turning the pages in a scrapbook and suddenly, the next page seems to jump out of the book at you! If you have never tried thickers, here is your chance!!

I agree! Thickers add just the right amount of dimension to complete my layouts. I love how Thickers look when used with a smaller, flat alphabet sticker as a subtitle. Love Them!

I love the state plates, but what happend to the other half of Michigan? We do have 2 peninsulas and unfortunately the Upper Peninsula seems to get slighted all the time.
