Summer has come to an end. Quite honestly, I think this is the best summer the kids and I have ever had.I didn’t put them in summer camp this summer – first summer ever since either of them was born. Last summer they did lots of different camps and I was actually a little jealous of all the different kinds of fun they were having.
This summer, both of them let me know that they did not want to go to camp. So, home with the babysitter it was. I worried they would be bored.
Turns out I couldn’t have been more wrong. They both loved “just hanging out” this summer and riding bikes, playing video games, swimming in the pool and getting up when they felt like it. I can’t imagine why! (*smile*)
Today is their first day of school. Fifth grade and second grade. Unbelievable. They didn’t even want me to come to their classroom. “We know where to go.”
And since they are at their Dad’s, I didn’t even get to see them on their first morning of school. Yuck.
I am SO not ready for this growing up thing!
Since I’m “feeling” school so acutely in my house this week, we decided to bring you “Making the Grade” by Reminisce. This collection spans kindergarten through Senior year….both of which, with very little thought, can reduce me to tears in moments (Moms – you KNOW what I’m talking about!). Back by popular demand, Tiffany has created two layouts using this collection.
The pieces are great for all of the years and as your child gets older, you’ll notice that the color scheme changes as well making it more age appropriate. One of the really cool things that Tiff does is use the scallop punch by EK Success (EK-54-30048) to create coordinating flowers for her layouts. It’s hard to see in the images but she also uses pop dots to add a dimensional look – love that!Echo Park – “Happy Halloween” – Cuuuuute! Take a look at the layout that Tiffany designed using this collection. (For all of you that want to scraplift – and hey, I don’t blame you if you do, we put up all of the pieces that she used right after the Happy Halloween collection.)

Bring on the Fall – this layout using “Autumn Forest” by Reminisce has me wishing for a chill in the air and the smell of a fire in the fireplace….I KNOW that I live in Florida where it’s 105 degrees but a girl can dream. (*smile*)
For our first Christmas collection this year (we asked and you spoke…AND I quote, “YES, we want holiday stuff any time of year….”) with that in mind, we have “Gingerbread Lane” by Reminisce. Gingerbread men, gingerbread houses, candy, peppermints, baking – now with my Fall fire I can smell cookies baking…..oops, got off track a bit. (*smile*)
The die cut tags by We R Memory Keepers that everyone loves are back! “Out and About” is a fun, versatile collection that can be used for vacations, last minute road trips or any get-away that you are lucky to be taking.
Finally, we have Karen Foster’s “Maternity,” “Baby’s First,” “Potty Training,” “Little Girl” and “Little Boy.”

Hi Julie. I know it’s only August but my 3 kids have already decided what they want to be for Halloween this year and they want to all coordinate. I was wondering if you can help? I know you have issues due to licensed products but was wondering if you have ever seen any Mario Brothers scrap supplies? (they are so into the Wii games!!) They want to be Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach and I have already found costumes for them all. Ever the planner-a-header, I was hoping to have the supplies ready in hand before Halloween. Any ideas?? Thanks for any help!

“And since they are at their Dad’s, I didn’t even get to see them on their first morning of school. Yuck.”
I know how this is and it SUCKS. It sucks when you don’t even get an email with a first day of school photo either. GRR.
I’m really looking forward to fall – it’s my favorite time of year!
