You know how sometimes you meet someone and you instantly feel like you’ve known them forever? That was my experience with Linda, a woman I met this past weekend. And isn’t it interesting how you can tell a complete stranger things you are afraid to share with your closest friends? Something about the anonymity of it, I guess.
I saw her at the meeting and she was always laughing and smiling. She had a really bubbly personality and seemed to be a happy person.
She ended up sitting across from me at dinner and we made the usual small talk. But when I asked her where she was from, everything shifted. "My body is here, but my mind and spirit are in California."
They say we all wear a mask for other people. When she dropped her "I’m so happy and bubbly mask," a woman in a lot of pain was underneath.
As I listened to her share the heartache in her life with me, I was just overwhelmed with compassion for her. Not just because of what had happened to her, but also because she didn’t know she could change everything. Just like that.
It’s all in our heads, you know. Women have condescendingly been told that for years, and it’s true. But not in the way we were made to think it was.
All we have to do is change our mind. And were usually pretty good at that! (*smile*)
We think things should be a certain way and when they’re not, we are in pain. And stuck. And we can’t see how things could possibly be any different. Or we are so set in how we think things should be, that we miss out on something better.
I hugged Linda and backed up and put my hands on her shoulders and looked her right in the eyes. And tried to send her some of my newfound strength. And shared with her the wonderful advice given to me by my dear friend Annie.
"I know right now, standing where you are, you can’t even imagine how things are going to get better. But don’t focus on right now. Focus on a year from now, when you can look back over the past year and marvel at how far you’ve come. I know it seems so overwhelming to look forward. So don’t. Just know that a year from now, it will all have worked out, just the way it was supposed to work out. You just can’t see it yet."
I hope I helped her to feel a little better. Sometimes I think we just need someone, even if it’s a complete stranger, to tell us everything is going to be okay. (*smile*)
Now, wait until you see the scrapbooking supplies we have for you this week! Here we go again – trying something new! So many of you have written us and told us that you “LOVE” to see the new collections “in action.” This week we aren’t going to do so much writing as we are “showing.” The individual pieces of each collection are fabulous, in and of themselves, but when you see them featured in layouts the ideas begin to flow. Below are layouts for each of the collections. Also, to make it easier to find the products in the New Section, we have added an image of the layout to this section. The products used in these layouts can be found following the layout image. (Please keep in mind, you can NOT buy the layout.) Ok, here we go:
It’s FINALLY here! The three new Prima collections are IN – “Jack and Jill,” “Road Trip,” and “Annalee.” So many of you have been asking (so we know that some of you know how beautiful these collections are) but for those of you that haven’t seen them yet, just wait…

We are “loving” the Crate Paper collections this week and the layouts just keep making it better and better! We have several layouts to show different ways to use the same paper….ideas, ideas, ideas! Tiff wants me to be sure to mention that she is REALLY crazy about the “Snowy Day” collection. She LOVES the bright, cheerful colors, the fun patterns and the gazillion different ways that this paper can be used….it’s not only limited to winter/Christmas time layouts…oh yeah, “and how can you pass up the cute, little snowman?”
Below are the layouts using “School Spirit” and “Snowy Day.”

"School Spirit" Collection Finally, We R Memory Keepers presents "Heebie Jeebies" and “FunFetti.” Tiff’s layout for FunFetti is vibrant and really shows how to use different product from other lines….take a look at how she used the Say it in Pearls, self-adhesive, pearl embellishments by Prima (PR-530891).

One tool that we believe is worthy of mention, is Basic Greys rub-on roller (BG-TOL-819)…..yep, you heard us right, throw away those horrible popsicle sticks and get a tool that you’ll fall in love with! One side is a rolling ball tip that smoothly transfers your rub-on onto the paper while the other side is a paddle for “setting” your rub-on. As far as we are concerned, this is a “must have!”

I was struck by your message today. Many times I am very much like Linda. I keep a happy and joyful personality in public that attracts people to me. Then in the end they get confused because I hold them at a distance to keep them from knowing my true colors.
